Very incompetent.

Very bad experience: - They failed to tell me of a serious issue with the property until I discovered it for myself 4 months into my tenancy, and I had to bully them to get even an unsatisfactory level of compensation for it. (I also happen to know that they did not tell the next tenants about this problem either!) - They were very unprofessional - e-mails from them were poorly written to the point of being difficult to understand at times, and in one conversation where I phoned up about some problems it was clear that my property manager was simply not interested. - They lacked knowledge - on more than one occasion, I had to explain something to them that they should have been aware of, despite the fact that they were normally charging me for whatever it was at the time. - They were never so efficient as when they were trying to get money out of me. For example, I was phoned three times in the same afternoon after viewing a property in the morning so that they could get a deposit out of me. - They were generally very unhelpful. For example, I queried a cost in November 2018, only to finally receive the answer I was looking for around March 2019. I have found out since that Prospect even has a bad reputation among other estate agencies in Reading, who have told me this quite independently of each other. My recommendation is to avoid them at all costs, unless you're buying and have found your absolute dream home, in which case maybe you can hold your nose and get through the worst of it quickly.

Very unprofessional and rude staff. After confirming my interest in a property, I was promised an email confirming all the details of the property from them. After a while, still didn't receive an email, I called again just to find out that the property I told I was interested in was GONE and given to someone else. Being very pressured with time to find an apartment, I was left with 0 options. Even when I talked to the agent and told him that I was waiting for an email for that property, I received a very rude response. There is 0 communication between the agents. Never use their service, look for other agencies FOR SURE!

This agency is the worst to deal with! Very unprofessional and very unorganized between themselves. After confirming that i wanted a property to rent in Reading and after they confirmed it to me and told me that they will send a confirmation email with all the details, I called to find out that it was given to someone else (another tenant). This happened twice, and then they were not even picking up my calls. I ended up staying 5 nights in a hotel because of them. Never use there unprofessional service

This is the worst experience from a supposed professional organisation we have dealt with. Please avoid them to maintain your sanity and well being! We rented a place off them where we were told there was access entry keys for 2 people. When we agreed tenancy and signed up, we only received one and were told the landlord can’t find the other one and is unwilling to get another one ordered as there is only meant to be one person who parks within the development, not exactly what was highlighted or marketed by Prospect when they were advertising. Over time we experienced issues with the heating, the boiler would not turn on or function when the thermostat was turned on, over the course of 3 weeks nothing was done by Prospect and it caused my wife to fall ill and exacerbate her asthma. They still have not sorted anything out, as they say they struggle to speak to the landlord if we decide to withdraw a rental payment, they are quickly on the phone asking when it will be paid as the landlord is concerned?? To this date nothing has been rectified they have not even come forward with a solution or offer based on our experienced even though this has been escalated internally to senior management (surprise surprise they have not responded to our letters). On this basis we are now seeking assistance from third party Citizens advice as well as making a formal complaint to Property Ombudsmen. If you are thinking of renting a property managed by Prospect, please think again, I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and incompetent company as them from the director of letting Mark Towell right down to the lettings negotiator!

Whatever you do, don't sign a DD with these cowboys, they always take too much money and blame systems when its an obvious human error. Awful reliability from the accounts department. expect 1/3 of your direct debits to go wrong.

Do not recommend. Very unprofessional. I wasted my time calling and going to their office more than once. Reached out to them when I first arrived in Reading almost a year ago. I visited their office to ask about lettings. They took my information and I never heard back. I visited again a month after and told them you're not answering my calls and they didn't say anything as if it's normal for them to ignore people. They took my info again and told me a flat would be available in a specific building I was interested in and they would call me in a few days. They never called, so I called again to ask for an update. The person I spoke with said that it was still not available and he would call back in a few days. They never called back. I ended up renting with one of their rivals, very professional, reliable staff. Almost a year has passed and im looking for a flat again, so we decided to give them another chance. My wife requested to view a flat TWICE and they did not respond both times. Very disappointing. Won't be wasting anymore of my time on them.
