I've had a very bad experience trying to move to Reading, me and a friend were trying to rent a house for our first year at university and they made our transition way more difficult then it had to be. We were meant to get the house but their excessive questioning for paperwork ended up making us lose the property due to failure on their end. I would not recommend their service as they have put me in a very difficult situation at the moment and made me lose the property.

Just had a cold call from them, when I asked the caller to delete my number, without another word, they hung up. Not the worst service in the world (so long as he did actually delete my number) but you phoned me, at least be polite enough to acknowledge my request

Lack of communication and care, very unprofessional. There's much better agencies to go with

It’s been almost 2 months that we left the property and we still have not received our deposit and excess payment. At first we have been receiving updates, but the last update has been more than 2 weeks and now even with regular followup, there are no responses. Hopefully i get a response soon.

Quite possibly scammers! Agreed to rent a flat, paid monies for referencing, and then ... nothing! No tenancy agreement, no updates, nothing. Monies wasted!

A very negative experience at the end of tenancy. Tenancy ended during the Covid lockdown. To start with, I was not informed that there will be no check out and I should drop the keys, till I contacted the office to find out why the check out clerk hadn't turned up. Then, as per their instructions, I had dropped off the keys in an envelope through their letter box. 2 days letter, I receive a call saying they are still waiting for the keys. This is when the 9 week nightmare began, to try and get my deposit back. After the initial few weeks of being completely unresponsive and not returning calls, things picked up on the 'getting a response' front, only to be told to pick up the bill for the lost keys. After 9 weeks of pain and numerous phone calls, I finally received my deposit, post the agreed deductions. I will not be using them in the future, due to lack of communication. Responsiveness is good, only when signing up, not when you try to end the contract. I would avoid the Reading Lettings team in the future. I don't want to take names, but the Property Management team are pretty bad at responding.

Worrest agent, allowing landlord to pull out the offer even after sending the holding amount. Which ethnically wrong, Agent should take the responsibility on this to control the landlord to not do such things otherwise don't take the holding amount. What is the point in taking holding amount? Holding amount is to hold the property for tenant right. No vaues, no ethics.

I was renting an apartment from Prospect for about a year. At the end of my tenancy agreement I was charged for the damages that weren’t in fact caused by my negligence. Landlord has also bought pillows and fixed his TV with my money. In total I had £1000 taken from my deposit that I gave at the beginning of my tenancy period. The company wouldn’t let me contact the landlord directly when I wasn’t going to accept this reduction to my deposit. The company won’t help you to deal with the Deposit scheme companies but instead send you a link to their website. As of now, (3 month after I have ended my tenancy period) I am still awaiting for my deposit to be returned, accepting the reduction that was made to my deposit. Some members of the team present themselves as really unresponsive and so dozen of my emails (including the my last 3 emails regarding my deposit) went ghosted. Having all the reasons collected over the course of the year, I wouldn’t recommend this company. I will let you know when I will receive an email regarding the return of my deposit as soon as I get it! :) For now I will just keep scratching my head I guess.

This is Reading’s worst agency. They did not support me while in negotiation for buying a property. In fact, after my solicitors’ search, it came out that the property was faulty for the following reasons: • Asbestos issue • Fire risk assessment missing • No certainty as to fund availability in the management company to run the above check They tried to force me to buy it before Christmas (after 5 months negotiation) as it was and at the same initial agreed price (when issues were not unveiled yet). I rejected this unacceptable option and then they dropped my offer and remarketed the property. Very rude and unprofessional. Do not buy through them if you are not a fun of disappointment. Do NOT waste money and time with them

Asked to view a property x2 in Prospect Street Reading. Said they would confirm this by e mail. No e-mail to confirm viewing on Sunday even though I chased. Missed viewing as no confirmation. Phoned today and was told a pack of lies and contradictions over the phone. Office in Reading town centre looks very slick but lacks substance. This is no way to conduct business and is very rude. Wonder if the landlords know this how future tenants are treated. Not to be trusted.
