Had to change my review as have lived in an Umega flat now for 2 years - we were without heating or hot water for over three weeks in December/January and there is still a hole in our ceiling from the "repairs!" Also they had the audacity to chase me for full rent for that month. I was given a good reference from them (probably to get me out of their flats because I knew my rights!) so have given 2 stars.

Hey Lauren, thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear things slipped latterly. I've had a look into the situation and I understand that the landlord instructed us to use his own contractor who visited the property on numerous occasions to reset the boiler which intermittently broke down. Apparently the root of the problem was finally traced to a communal pipe so things were passed over to the property factor to rectify. In retrospect we should have got our own trades people in to make sure the job was completed to our standard so I can only apologise for this. We'll learn not to rely on landlord's preferred contractors at all times if they're not keeping up to our high standards. I wish you the best of luck in your new home :)

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with Umega. Despite submitting multiple Fixflo requests regarding urgent issues with my shower and toilet leaking, I’ve been met with complete silence. Weeks have passed with little response, no updates, and certainly no action. Basic living conditions should not be ignored, but Umega clearly has no sense of urgency or respect for tenants or landlord property. I’ve tried to follow up, but my requests are either dismissed or ignored entirely. It’s unacceptable to be left without essential facilities, especially when I’ve done everything by the book to report the issues.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Umega. The level of professionalism and responsiveness has been shockingly poor. As a customer, I expected better communication, accountability, and action, but instead, I was met with delays, excuses, and a complete lack of respect for my time and concerns. I would not recommend Umega to anyone looking for reliable and professional service. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

A very disappointing experience. A contractor they have - which was supposed to carry out a EICR certificate - had a irritating behaviour after he broke an electric shower, which tried to claim it wasn't working (and it was until the same morning) and not even apologising for it. I felt the agency completely dismissed the thing - taking only the side of the contractor and not even listening to the client. They took the money - which I paid completely - and not even a thanks. I wouldn't recommend them. It's probably one of these agencies that it's good only until everything goes well.

Very popular agency with main and only focus to do their job up to the point they get their commission and then the only thing they do is to keep charging landlords, run the yearly checks in the properties and that’s it. Absolute no care about the tenants, their tradesmen are the most expensive in the market with double commissions compared to to others (I’m guessing why). Moved to new offices now far away from city centre to avoid the demanding crowd. Is good to expand as business but can you actually handle it? Don’t think so..

I am renting a 2 bed flat with my partner. Initially Umega were absolutely fantastic, but it has been difficult to get a response on queries after we signed the lease. Since moving in we've had to report a couple of issues, mainly the gas hob and boiler Getting a new hob took almost a month but we managed. Currently, 17/01/2024, we are without hot water and heating. In winter. We reported the issue 5 days ago and we've had minimal contact from Umega. Getting an update from our portfolio manager is like pulling teeth. All I got is that it has to go to the landlord before repairing the boiler.. I understand that, but after waiting 5 days without hot water or heating I must say that I am outraged. I am resorting to leaving this review in hopes that someone above our portfolio manager gets stuff done. An absolute disgrace to leave tenants with heating and hot water.

Hi Magnus, I have looked into this and can see that our team are actively dealing with the boiler issue, and have instructed repairs. When you reported the repair on Saturday an emergency contractor did attend and provide a quote for repair, which needed to be run past the landlord due to the high cost. Unfortunately a temporary fix was not possible. The landlord then wished to utilise their gascare insurance policy for this repair, which we have instructed. I am satisfied that our team have dealt with this as quickly as they could, but I do appreciate your frustration and will ensure the team keep chasing this up and that your property manager is in touch with regular updates.
