I am absolutely furious with Umega Lettings. Not only have I been waiting since October for my back gate to be fixed, I have been waiting 10 days to get my back door fixed. I live as a single parent with 3 young kids and not having access through my back door for this long is completely unacceptable. Contractors were supposed to come today (!!!!!!) to fix the back door and they haven't been. I tried to open the door which i thought had been fixed, so it is now hanging off its hinges again. I have called the emergency number only to be told there's nothing they can do as it was a planned maintenance appointment and not a new job. HOW CAN THIS BE ACCEPTABLE? The back of my home is now COMPLETELY insecure and there's nothing anyone can do? This is absolutely ludicrous! I have tried corresponding with Umega Lettings via email prior to today, to try to get things sped up and what a surprise, no response. Thank you so much for leaving my children and completely vulnerable.
We tried to view a property to let in Prestonpans, we got fobbed off with WE WILL CALL YOU BACK! Still waiting on that call! I wouldn't have them let a property I owned after such a terrible service (lack of) �
Would never rent with umega no matter how desperate I was for a home.So so unprofessional to deal with, took weeks to get anything sorted/fixed, we lived in our flat a few months before our small bathroom became very damp, we had asked for a fan to be fitted however got an extremely rude response on Xmas eve telling us to just keep the window open and it was our own fault even though the flat had previous damp issues. Also ended up living with no hot water in our bathroom & kitchen taps for over 3 weeks, unhygienic and a nightmare constantly boiling our kettle to wash dishes. At the checkout it was no surprise they were Ruder than ever, we were charged £60 for a heater we didn't use once and a heater cover that seemed to have broke after the checkout, -our fault of course!Useless, rude & untrustworthy Would NEVER rent with them ever again.
Shockingly bad service, avoid at all costs. Umega were responsive & professional before we moved into the property but as soon as the lease was signed we were treated extremely poorly. The property was unsafe, untenable and in a state of disrepair that had been disguised for the viewings. It was a nightmare to get Umega to even respond to our requests for repairs needed on the property which after less than 2 weeks was missing an entire window and left the property open to wind & rain. Throughout our stay Umega were dishonest, difficult to communicate with, reluctant to do any work & generally unpleasant. Lots of good lettings agents in Edinburgh, umega certainly aren't one of them.
I had a terrible experience with this letting agency.When I joined the property, the manager mentioned that they are planning to change the carpet as it was old and there was a big cut on one side.I kept chasing them for a couple of weeks and it never happened .Again there was a lot of unwanted stuff in the store room and told them to clear it off, I kept chasing for a couple of months but it never happened .Suddenly one day ( In the month of November) the boiler stopped working and there was no hot water and heating facilities in the flat. I immediately turn up and mentioned about the issues in the flat, there was no immediate action and I kept chasing them to fix the problem. I clearly mentioned that how we (including a 11months old baby) were suffering without the hot water and heaters in the freezing cold winter. Worst part from their side is they were least bothered about us and we’re NOT given any temporary heaters.Finally, they took about 7days to fix the issue.
