I'm so disappointed at the service rendered to us at Charles David Casson. I really don't get why a 2 bedroom flat will be overcrowding for a family of four (husband, wife , daughter 6, son 4)? I don't understand their reason enough. It's disappointing to know honestly. This is our 2nd attempt with you guys.
Our block nearly had every utility cut off due to non payment . Still awaiting our budget from November ‘21. No communication and not qualified to manage properties. Now just been told by CDC that they have ceased trading and our account has been moved over to a firm we didn’t vet or okay ! Stay away from these incompetent rogue agents . Reported to Ombudsman and we are seeking legal advice !
Don't bother leaving your details when promised a call back to discuss a property you would like to see with a view to rent. You won't hear back from them at all.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

I had only chance to buy a property before my maternity and they wasted my time by lies that all the process is going through and actually they put back the property into the market to sell it in a higher price. They lied to me, to my mortgage adviser and to my lender. At the end they cleaned their hands that the vendor changed his mind. But the problem is they never told us that. I think they wanted to keep me in pocket in case no other buyers come for higher price. I lost my chance of my life losing 3 months with them until we find property, have an offer, and then we start the process. I had also concerns with lack of communication, not true promises and reassurances and also private personal information which is leaked to them from their mortgage adviser which I never gave my consent to be shared to them. I feel totally crushed.

Cannot recommend this agent as we have had nothing but issues since renting with them. Firstly everything was great with Macey showing us round the property & agreeing the rent etc she was so helpful but since then it’s been downhill with the property maintenance side. 1st issue: Bungalow was listed as including the white goods & we checked this when viewing then the day we moved in the washing machine never worked & the fridge froze most things put in we were then told that these were In fact gifted to us from the landlord- so then I had to rush out & by a new machine & fridge freezer & was left to dispose of the old ones myself! They admitted it was a mistake in the advert & will make sure not to do this again! 2nd issue: The day we moved in there was a Ant infestation that was clearly known about as ant powder had been put down- would of been nice to of been told this prior rather than getting the keys to then see this. Eventually this was sorted but the lack of communication just doesn’t help. 3rd issue: The electrical testing failed slightly but we were still allowed to move in & again day we moved in we used the shower which tripped the electrics & flooded in the kitchen- we were then left without a shower for a while then a new one was being fitted which I asked my dad to check as he does this for a living they were fitting a gravity shower straight away he said that won’t work without a pump as it will not be powerful enough at all to use & he spoke to the plumber who was doing it who said it would be fine roll on day it’s fixed & honestly it barely dribbled out you wouldn’t of been able to wash let alone wash hair with it so then had to wait another week for a pump to be fitted so took nearly 4 weeks! CDC said this was not them as the landlords plumber was used fair enough but they manage the property so all complaints go to them. 4th issue: Glass shower screen was broken on day we moved in was obviously again known as a shower curtain was put up- had to ask for this to be removed as it was a health & safety issue with my child in the house- the plumber took this off while doing the shower then left this & all the shower rubbish on my doorstep claiming the landlords daughter would collect this in the evening I wasn’t happy as its glass & I had kids in the house shock horror this wasn’t collected as she was in fact away so I was told to leave this in my garden I refused & was called difficult( did t care by this point as was so deflated as was so excited to move in then all the above crap within hours/weeks of being there). I ended up getting rid of the shower screen myself afew days later as they couldn’t for over a week! Service just isn’t happening with anything- we are good tenants who don’t mind doing bits around the place but felt this was to much after just moving in at our cost & time. Whether that’s CDC or the landlords. 16th December 2021 report the pump on shower has broke already as it’s unusable as it’s back to dribbling out water roll on to today 5th January 2022 still not fixed & no update to my last e mail sent to Kate on 24th December after the plumber text to say pump manufacturer are now closed until 4th January 2022 so they don’t rush to fix issues at all. Last place I rented in Colchester through a different agent all issues were fixed so quickly the landlords were so good CDC told me we were just lucky before apparently. I cannot blame the landlord here though as I’ve been told he’s abroad & surely that’s what you pay agents for? It’s such a shame as we actually love the Bungalow & area but issue after issue & lack of service makes you start to not like things.

I really did not want to write a negative review about a fellow Chelmsford company, especially in the current climate we are in. However, having given Charles David Casson the benefit of the doubt for 9 months, i have again today been fobbed off with a response, 'we will get back to you'. I completed work for Charles David Casson last year, and I'm yet to be paid for it. As a company, we have emailed frequently, spoken to Daniella personally and via email. My email address has now been blocked from both the general email address and the personal one from Daniella. We were advised that they paid a company with a very similar company name, but I still don't understand how this treatment to us can be justified in any way shape or form. We shouldn't have to pay the price for an internal fault. I would urge people to steer clear from this company that refuses to pay outstanding invoices to other companies that have completed work, as i believe this to be a reflection on the people that run this company.NegativeProfessionalism
