Fraudulent Estate agent. I would suggest avoiding. They collected 8-9months of management fee and niglected the property and tenant. Gave tenant my contact details (shoving them to contact me) failed to conduct any site visit and no advise to tenant. Refused to give any fees back.

It's disappointing to read this review as you were a previous Landlord of ours who took your property back in February (hence us passing on your contact details to the Tenants) and then failed to carry out inspections. We did in fact reimburse you some management fees when you decided you no longer wished us to manage the property for you. Your review is false as the situation you now find yourself in is purely down to your management of your own property. If you wish to discuss any further, although you have already spoken to our Lettings Director, then please contact us. In the meantime I suggest you remove this review which has been reported.

Property management is absolutely awful. I live next door to the house they let. Trying to get them to cut back trees that are damaging our fence and roof. This has been going on for over 6 months and every time I call I get told they will look into it and call me back and never hear anything. Wasted so much of my time. Looking at some of their reviews I shouldn’t be surprised. Sort it out please

I am happy to provide specific. Your admin person is unhelpful and and most importantly rude. I won’t name any name here, because only one person was like this in my previous experience. I understand she’s probably don’t want to go out of her way to help me and process whatever paperwork she got but lack of willingness to communicate and help, renter can loose out on a place right??? But it’s ok, I took my business somewhere else and found a better property at the end and I will need to purchase a house when my lease is up and you know what, I am avoiding Winkworth at all cost.

I requested a valuation online. The call I received totally blew my mind. As a seller, I did not get any professional advice or appointment slots, instead I was asked how much I think my property was worth, then there was was a line of questioning about my estimate, it felt I was facing a picky customer who was haggling aggressively, we spent most of the timing arguing 'how much I spent on my property'. Most of the time, the so-called evaluation manager was very condescending, I did not sense any professionalism. I received an email later, but never received any call as mentioned after responding. I think this agent is very picky about its customers, it is perfectly alright, but there is a professional way to show your lack of interest. I will never come to your door again, the review would have been submitted with 0 star if possible.

I have had an awful experience at my checkout with this agency. The inventory report was ridiculously meticulous and punctilious and I have been charged for normal wear and tear damages and for issues not caused by me. As a result I will never rent with this agency again and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Great for the Landlord. Stay well clear if you're a renter. We professionally cleaned the property and left it to the standard of when we moved in yet without notifying us they decided to do 500 pounds of professional cleaning and deduct it from our deposit. Our cleaner would have actually returned to the property and cleaned any area they were not satisfied with free of charge, instead they decided without informing us to undertaken a top to bottom cleaning, even cleaning elements we never even used and charging for it (the oven). Utterly bizarre behaviour. They even listed a single hair on the mattress as a sign it wasn't clean. This seems to align with other reviews I've seen here so it's a shame we didn't heed this warning. Stay well away if you're a renter. Edit: Great news. We got almost all of the money back after the dispute. Always fight them!

To write a review of our time letting through Winkworth would require a dissertation, which I neither have the time or the patience to unfold. From inception to finish, renting through this agency was nothing short of a nightmare. Consumer fraud, inattentiveness, and sleazy cash-grabbing tactics upon moving out are just a few ways I would characterize this place. Do not, I repeat, do not judge the reputation of this agency based off of their supposed "verifiable" Google reviews, because you'll come to find that hundreds of thousands of lessees have been scammed out of their hard-earned money for reasons that are completely incomprehensible. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Updated on Oct 25: The Sales team is excellent but the property management team is terrible. I have reported a case - a non-working oven for nearly 2 months but still having not been fixed. Everytime they replied me to call me back but it never happened. I think this sustaining service is one of the key factors when you choose a property agent. I thought to ask them to help to buy a new house next but I gave up now. It is a great experience with the Winkworth Reading team. From initial inquiry till the moving into the new house. It is great to have Holly and Annette in the whole process. They are working proactively to meet me needs and always provide timely response to me query. Very much advise working with Winkworth if you are looking to buy/sell your property.

Terrible for renters in Reading

Family of 4, boiler not working. They are the property managment the landlord selected. Called on Saturday morning, they wasted our time with information downloaded from the Internet I looked up myself too. Eventually they claimed I had no gas when I mentioned the hobs were working. So they decided to call on Monday to see if they could send someone to take a look. It was forecasted to be -5 degress during the night and it was like that. I had to call myself an emergency service, pay it, and of course it wasn't the gas. Totally careless people as humans and business. Cannot say as a landlord but if you are renting best to stay away from them. Reading office
