Rented Queens Wharf Reading what a nightmare thru Winkworth as Property Managers. Lift was always broken, walking up and down 6 flights of stairs even when it was 40 degrees outside. Building takes no responsibility and Winkworth did nothing on behalf of their tenants. Building has a ton of issues aside lift so do your homework if you are thinking of renting in this building. Electric and utility bills outrageous, electric was 650 pounds a month. Also the 3 bedroom penthouse we rented had no Economy 7 they switched it off to fix a problem it caused with hot water heater. Was without hot water for 2 weeks during tenancy due to slow response and BS "we are waiting for parts" when they had to replace hot water heater, no excuse, all documented via emails between myself and Winkworth. Winkworth did nothing could not have cared a toss. We moved out early and shock, elevator wasnt working when I moved out and i had to pay movers a premium to lug my belongings down 6 flights and building nor Landlord would remediate costs. Appalling. Reading the reviews from Landlords is very telling. They are on owners, not tenants side for support.

Booked 3 house visits. One of the owners was ill so had to cancel the viewing which is understandable. However our last visit of the day was cancelled by Winkworth and we were not informed. So we waited for around 2 hours in Reading and show up at the house, only for no one to show up. Spent half of my Saturday to view one house.

Slow service, asked for gas and safety check copy but didn’t get any!! , they call from private fone number !! Don’t know why?? If I don’t answer I don’t know who’s calling!! Sent me a not clear copy of the renewed contract!! Asked for mailing the contract said ok but didn’t get any !! Good staff when I visit however they need to be serious when serving customers specially with major work like gas safety check copy with the renewed contract renewal contract time reminder or email Clear copies of the contract by email or by mail cheers

Not professional. After scheduling a 5pm viewing ( 9 Brechin Court) on a Tuesday a week in advance, the agent calls me around lunch time confirming the viewing, which I confirmed. At 4:55 (as I am 1 minute away the property) agent calls and says that the viewing is not possible and need to reschedule. They do not give a strong enough reason. The reason is the house at the moment is “not in a viewing condition”. No follow ups, not the slightest customer care shown. They need to understand their job and do that properly! Highly unprofessional, would not recommend this. Poor management, poor agents leading to a very unpleasant experience.

Hi Nikola, We are so sorry that this has happened. We attended the property after the current tenant had said it was suitable for viewings, only to find that this was not the case. We then had to cancel all 13 viewings last minute as it was a safety concern and immediately remove the property from the market. Winkworth: The Agent You'll Regret Trusting My encounter with Winkworth was more like a horror story than a tenancy agreement. Right from the start, their neglectful attitude towards my concerns set the stage for disaster. Despite my relentless reports and pleas for maintenance, they turned a blind eye and even had the audacity to blame me for their shortcomings. As if that wasn't enough, their attempt to pin unfair charges on me during the deposit dispute was the final straw. Having to drag them kicking and screaming to the Deposit Protection Service wasted countless hours of my precious time, all because of their incompetence. And let's not forget their little escapade of unauthorized entries and mail tampering – a major breach of trust. Oh, and did I mention the delightful surprise of finding someone had cooked in the kitchen and left behind a pack of noodles? It seems amateur chefs aren't the only thing you'll have to worry about with Winkworth. Winkworth? More like Wink-what?! If you enjoy waiting forever for a response or being charged for things that were broken before you even arrived, then they're your go-to.

Had a terrible experience with James from reading branch. My babies weren't well so i requested to move the viewing by 15 minutes. Didn't agree citing busy schedule, when i reached after a 35 mile drive, received a call that the tenant isn't letting us in. Later they apologised and said they would arrange for a video viewing. It was a Saturday and Monday morning mailed that both properties are gone. This is extremely unprofessional behavior. House hunting is tough and such agencies further compound the trouble.

Winkworth are atrocious at rental property management. Never gave my landlord the check in report, upon moving in hence it was not signed. Luckily I took personal photos of EVERYTHING!!! the day I moved in. Then they tried to claim wall marks and carpet issues that had been there since I moved in, after I moved out. I won my deposit with DPS who actually know what they are doing, whilst winkworth were so incompetent they didn’t see that the photos I took originally contradicted their silly claims. DO NOT TOUCH WINKWORTH WITH A BARDGE POLE, I URGE YOU!!!! …… Because this was just one of my many problems with their lack of service.
