Awful experience with Kettering branch . If you are looking to rent go elsewhere, there are plenty of other estate agents out there . Staff were dismissive and unhelpful. Had to chase calls and emails .It was as if dealing with tenants was beneath them. Have had to wait for 5 months to get our deposit back after using the Deposit protection service which was very stressful . Avoid !

I rented a property through Henderson Connellan in August 2023. Having departed the property on July 25th 2024 I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned (Sept 2024). As there is no dispute as far as I am aware I cannot fathom why this cant be actioned. When Ive have contacted them to chase them the response has been poor or negligible. Perhaps be careful parting with your money until you establish the method and timescale in which it will be returned. And if your system and processes don't work how about apologising and then doing something to fix them rather than ignoring it and hoping it will go away.

Hi Collette -thank you for your review and feedback – Deposits are held by the Deposit Protection Service ( DPS) . Your deposit was set for release by Henderson Connellan shortly after your tenancy ended. The DPS is a government authorised scheme holding deposits independently of letting agents. For your deposit release to be concluded you must log into the DPS website to confirm the deposit return as well as the account for funds to be refunded to. I have never experienced such appalling treatment from an estate agency as I have with Henderson Connellan. As a tenant, it became abundantly clear that their priorities lie solely with their sales clients, and tenants are treated as nothing more than an afterthought. From the start, their communication was atrocious. Trying to get in touch with anyone for basic maintenance issues or general inquiries was a nightmare. Phone calls would go unanswered, emails were ignored for days, and when someone did eventually respond, they were dismissive and unhelpful. It was as if dealing with tenants was beneath them, and we were constantly made to feel like an inconvenience. It’s not just me who’s had this awful experience either — Henderson Connellan’s reputation across Kettering, Corby and Market Harborough speaks for itself. Ask around and you'll quickly learn that they’re widely disliked in the area. Countless ex-tenants share similar stories of being mistreated, ignored, and neglected, while their sales clients receive the royal treatment. It’s a well-known fact that they only care about you if you’re buying or selling property; otherwise, you’re left to fend for yourself. One of the most disgraceful things is their complete lack of concern for health and safety. My rental property was full of mould (a serious health risk) and despite repeated requests to address the issue, nothing was done. They don’t care that tenants are living in unsafe conditions, breathing in mould that can cause severe health problems. The blatant disregard for tenant welfare is shocking and completely unacceptable. Their insincerity is painfully obvious — they’ll plaster on fake smiles and feign politeness when there’s money on the table, but the moment you’re locked into a rental contract, that mask slips, and they couldn’t care less about providing any real support or service. The stark difference in how they treat different clients is infuriating. The level of professionalism at Henderson Connellan is laughable. The staff are rude, unresponsive, and seem to lack even the basic decency to treat tenants with respect. The discrepancy in how they treat different clients is glaring, and their fake, two-faced attitude makes for an unpleasant experience all around, not to mention their desire to cut corners, and yes I will be letting the CTSI know with names and evidence. If you're looking to rent, avoid this agency at all costs. They do not care about you, your concerns, or your well-being. In fact, it’s no surprise that they’re loathed across the county — their treatment of tenants is disgraceful. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Would not recommend this estate agents at all. No respect for tenants , give a time frame of between 9:15am - 18:00pm with 24hrs notice for 6 monthly inspections so you literally have to take the whole day off work as they can come anytime you would think for working tenants they would give an hour slot, they also let themselves in to the property. Had a shower once and the male estate agent let themselves in lucky the chain was on so i just heard the loud bang and im a female living with my young son. Was told they knocked once and no answer so they let themselves in . All recorded on ring door bell. No privacy at all. Even the Landlord was not happy that they had let themselves in. This has happened 3 times despite having formal complaints raised and had no reply from complaints raised or even a manager callback

Offered a house 9 long row Woodford. The letting agent offered a date took a holding fee. Yet cancelled the moving date with no refund. I have calls every day from a company hendersons deal with trying to sell me insurance. As they think I’ve had the house. Very untrustworthy Avoid at all costs. Trading standards for me I think

The updates and improvements taking place at Long Row unfortunately took longer than anticipated, as a result you decided not to proceed with the tenancy. As discussed during our email exchanges your holding fee would be refunded, however this would take a few days. Our reference provider does also offer insurance cover, which is optional, we did notify them that you were not proceeding and there was a brief overlap which resulted in the continued calls initially after you decided not to proceed. I don't know where to start , Been a tenant with them for one year , so rude staff , very arrogant , never backs you up in any thing that need repair in the house , have to call them many many times and also call the owner to escalate things , been forced to pay more than I should ; as A conclusion I don't recommend them at all stay away ! in the last month before I move they just send people to see the house without any one of them being around , just imagine random people knocking your door to see the house ! Terrible experience. I was so lucky to have a supportive and lovely owner !

Maintenance issues are reported via FixFlo, this is our online reporting system, which is accessible day or night, we use this to enable full tracking of all issues reported during your tenancy. When giving notice to end a tenancy, at the end of the tenancy period, a tenant is required to give a minimum of one months notice in advance of their next payment date, this is explained and written into your tenancy. Dealt with them a few years ago. Absolutely awful. Sent emails and they were not actioned until after I had left the property and was told that I needed to “chase” them up myself. Would definitely not recommend. Once one of the agents even came to the flat without advising me of their visit and was alarmed when they had opened the door and I was there. Absolutely unprofessional and incompetent. Avoid!
