On the whole, I received an excellent service from Curchods. My 4 star review simply reflects that advice, offered I'm sure with the best intentions, given on the pricing of my property fell a little short and could have cost me £20-25K, however, I kept to a price that felt right given the current market and the first viewer offered full asking price. I can recommend Shoosmiths the second conveyancer suggested by Curchods. However, this was after going against my instincts about going with Curchods' first recommendation, AVrillo, who did not offer a 'no completion no fee' clause so I would potentially be subject to fees even if the sale did not complete for whatever reason. Joe and Phil are absolutely delightful and I cannot fault them for their support and professionalism throughout the sale. A very efficient team.

Pleased with the service we received from Kate. The process to exchange apparently had its highs and lows, but she dealt with the other parties, solicitors, agents et al and carried the stress. We just heard the deal had been concluded..Thanks Kate

Good personal service

We took a little longer than expected to get a buyer but I used Curchods based on previous experiences. Once we had sold, the team at the Ottershaw really pulled out the stops to make a very problematic sale as painless as possible. Many thanks Brad, Grant and Kate

Not a great experience overall.

Buying a house comes with its own stresses, without the added pressure, harassment and unfair treatment of staff at Curchods in Otterhsaw. In case you are not familiar, the average sale of a property takes 3-6 months depending on the circumstances. Therefore, with a no-chain approach to buying through Curchods, we hoped to be straight forward customers. We faced set-backs from the property we were purchasing in terms of lease extension, however bullying tactics and unfair judgement passed on to the vendor from Churchods, left us feeling brandished at fault. We were sold the property with a lease extension and when we were advised we could not sign the contract (a legally binding document) as it included the original, short lease we received threats from the agent and vendor stating they would pull out. This concludes that the staff at Curchods Ottershaw are unprofessional in their treatment of clients, let alone completely incompetent of understanding the purchasing process. From start to contract signing, it had been 3 months and 1 week, a relatively short process as far as buying and selling property goes. But we cannot express how under pressure and pushed from the agent we were to move quicker throughout the entire process. The entire process left us extremely unhappy and somewhat out of pocket after further charges arose. We have now gone elsewhere to purchase a property where the agent is fully cooperative, knowledgeable of costs involved and ultimately understanding of the process

Dear Chris. I am extremely sorry that you believe the service from Curchods Ottershaw has been anything less than exemplary. Whilst I certainly do not wish to begin a debate on a public forum, I do think it is important I state that the renewed lease had been ready for signature by any new buyer since January. Our clients solicitor offered to assist your solicitor in registering the new lease at the point of exchange and completion to ensure this was done correctly and at no additional expense to yourselves or our client. This is a common enough procedure, however your solicitor insisted the lease was put into your name before exchange & completion, which in our clients solicitors opinion was unneccessary and would involve additional expenses & time. Our client was under extreme pressure to exchange due to his ongoing purchase and felt that the process had gone on for far too long, hence the issue of deadlines to exchange. My office, and particularly Phill, has spent an incredible amount of time and effort trying to get this deal over the line in a reasonable time period. Most sales do not take 3-6 months to exchange - only the most extreme and problematic, which regrettably this one became, but most definitively not because of our involvement.
