More of a 3 1/2 rating. It took over a year to sell my property with Abbotfox. They provided me with alot of veiwings but many were waisting my time as they weren't even interested in the area! So it felt as though the agency were just trying to get the number of veiwings high rather than getting people who were genuinely interested in my property. Which wasn't great as having numerous veiwings was stressful. Someone finally made an offer straight after their veiwing around 16.00 o clock ish but the agency didn't inform me of this until late morning the next day which I found a bit upsetting as I thought they would be in touch as soon as the offer came through which is what most agencies do. Also the first phone call from them was with a lower offer so they said they are going to try and up it for me. They then called back with an extra 6k so it was accepted. I then spoke to the person who had made the offer and they informed it had all been done the night before and the offer of the extra 6k had already been made, so what that was all about I dont know! Anyway once the sale process started after the lockdown had finished Elaine and Julie took over and were great. We had an awful solicitor in the chain who took a ridiculous amount of time and drove us all mad, but they both managed to keep me slightly sane so thank you. We finally got there in the end.
Quick to respond to emails and make contact. Had to wait a long time at property for every viewing every time. One time I waited nearly an hour. Twice there was confusion over keys. I also stipulated several concerns before buying and they said they’d sort them but they didn’t. Time from offer to buying was swift though.
Purchased a house 5 years ago. All reasonably smooth. Regrettably I need to dock points for them ringing me up periodically and requesting call backs without giving any reason. Can't imagine they have a valid need to contact me and my answerphone message clearly prompts callers to give a reason for calling.
I am quite disappointed at Abbotfox. Over the past months, my landlord tried to sell his apartment and Abbotfox showed me incompetence and lack of respect. 5 times the viewings did not happen and each time they never called me or even ring the bell to tell me the viewer did not show up. I always have to call them after 20-25min to get confirmation. Each time, they are sorry and it won’t happen again… until the next time! Today, it seems the viewing was cancelled for quite some time as they removed it from their planning without letting me know…. It would have been nice letting me know as I could have done other things. Earlier this week, one viewing was around 2:30pm, I told them 2 weeks before it was not convenient and 3:30pm would be more suitable (as I am WFH and I have meetings). Despite of my emails I have been ignored and only around 11am of the same day they called me to tell their agenda was full and the best they could do was 3pm, which I accepted… and guess what… they arrived at 2pm!! The worst was several weeks ago, when, I, the tenant, had to do the visit of the flat as the agent did not show up! When we (me and the viewers) finally reached Abbotfox, the agent took 20min to arrive… It was quite an awkward situation… All this show to me the lack of respect and professionalism toward the tenant… I really hope you can improveNegativeQuality, Professionalism
The viewing I had with AbbotFox was chaotic and the agent had no information about the property. I have increased my rating from 1 star to 2 as they have since apologised and have made efforts to rectify the situation.NegativeProfessionalism
In what is quite a difficult butters market we have found them rather unresponsive and unhelpful. We viewed a property with them then offered chased a few times to be told offer too low needed to be in a higher threshold. Have received no confirmation offer was put forward. Offered again in higher threshold suggested heard nothing for 4 days. When chased we were told the agent dealing with it has been very busy and not had time... So decided to offer on something else... Poor vendors with that service and left us feeling we don't wish to proceed with a sale with them
Quite predatory - they charged me £100 to "secure the property" I applied for and had already made an agreement for. At the time, I was coming from Canada and I did not really understand UK laws, but have now been told by several people (and after searching up online) that this fee is illegal. My agent was Louie Alden. Also, I had to email and politely ask in person several times for my inventory for my flat but never received it, which I believe is quite dishonest. Just very disappointing as it was my first experience renting in the UK.
