Ive recently sold through Ferndowns and my sale was messy and a lot of the professionals with a part to play of the chain were even surprised with how bad it got - mainly due to my buyer and solicitors. However Charlotte was amazing with the progression. From the moment she took over looking after my sale she kept me informed, I didn't have to chase her and I can honestly say I don't think she could of done more for us - she went above and beyond, felt like even on a personal level it was important to her. We felt valued. It was chalk and cheese the experience we got with other companies within the chain. I have 3 buy to let properties which have been managed by Ferndown estates for over 10 years. The very nature of having properties managed means lots of people being involved such as obviously tenants, tradespeople and all the management staff. I can guarantee that if you join Ferndown estates and if you ever have any complaint about anything or anyone then the main man Mr Ian Crampton will happily sort any issue you have. To me Ian has become more than the head of a letting agency. Ian is such a likeable person and will always do his best to be friendly reassuring and professional. Ian has worked with the same team for many years which I think says a lot. On the whole I have found the team at Ferndown estates to be friendly and professional. They go over and above to find suitable tenants. I have had many tenants over the years who were screened by Ferndown estates and I have not had one bad tenant and when you consider that the main reason people avoid being landlords is the fear of a bad tenant then the chances are if you join Ferndown estates given my history you should be okay. When I first became a landlord I decided to maximize my profits and manage my properties myself and leave the finding tenants and agreements to Ferndown estates. On a couple of occasions Ian asked me if I had considered fully managed. Eventually I gave fully managed a go and I haven't looked back. It has taken away so much doubt and hassle that can come from being a landlord. They have all the legal requirements and tradespeople covered which makes being a landlord a lot easier. Yes you can make more profit managing your own properties but I have found that for what it costs it is worth every penny. If you do decide to give Ferndown estates a go have a chat with Ian, Thelma, Sharon, Mandy, Dawn or Joanne. They are a top team and if your experience of being a landlord is as good as mine you will not go far wrong. Be fair to your tenants. In my experience they have generally been good people.
