I have 3 buy to let properties which have been managed by Ferndown estates for over 10 years. The very nature of having properties managed means lots of people being involved such as obviously tenants, tradespeople and all the management staff. I can guarantee that if you join Ferndown estates and if you ever have any complaint about anything or anyone then the main man Mr Ian Crampton will happily sort any issue you have. To me Ian has become more than the head of a letting agency. Ian is such a likeable person and will always do his best to be friendly reassuring and professional. Ian has worked with the same team for many years which I think says a lot. On the whole I have found the team at Ferndown estates to be friendly and professional. They go over and above to find suitable tenants. I have had many tenants over the years who were screened by Ferndown estates and I have not had one bad tenant and when you consider that the main reason people avoid being landlords is the fear of a bad tenant then the chances are if you join Ferndown estates given my history you should be okay. When I first became a landlord I decided to maximize my profits and manage my properties myself and leave the finding tenants and agreements to Ferndown estates. On a couple of occasions Ian asked me if I had considered fully managed. Eventually I gave fully managed a go and I haven't looked back. It has taken away so much doubt and hassle that can come from being a landlord. They have all the legal requirements and tradespeople covered which makes being a landlord a lot easier. Yes you can make more profit managing your own properties but I have found that for what it costs it is worth every penny. If you do decide to give Ferndown estates a go have a chat with Ian, Thelma, Sharon, Mandy, Dawn or Joanne. Ferndown did a great job when selling our property in 2020. Adam and his team did an amazing job in marketing the property. Adam’s knowledge on the local market and his advice on sale price was great. We were unsure having never sold a property before but trusted him and we are so glad that we did. His advice led to 10 viewings within a week of listing and offers from multiple buyers days later. A sale was agreed around 2weeks from us listing for sale. Amazing. The conveyancing process was understandably long due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a long chain for our onward purchase. But Ferndown’s team were active in chasing progress every week. I can not put into words how amazing Ferndown Estates are, even with a particularly difficult house purchase, from start to finish the team were incredible. From arranging the original viewing, then letting us set up a half an hour second viewing after our offer was accepted so we could show our parents the property (this was particularly important to us being first time buyers) and all the support throughout the difficult process. I truly believe if it was not for Charlotte being so amazing and hands on we would still not be in our house now. It was a particularly difficult house purchase and Charlotte was always there for me to have a rant and cry down the phone (sometimes sad tears but eventually happy tears!) She constantly kept the pressure on to both solicitors, working so hard to ensure progress was being made, and was always the first to call me with updates so we could ensure everything got done as quick as possible. We are eternally grateful for all you did Charlotte as you are the reason we are now sat happy and well in our first ever home. And I genuinely already miss speaking to you regularly for a chat as you managed to always reassure me in the lowest of times when I thought the house purchase was never going to go through!!
