Extremely poor communication and organisation. Had to book to see the same flat 3 times! Each rearrangement was made because the agency had failed to turn up at the flat, and they even failed to have the courtesy to call me and leave a message letting me know the booking was cancelled! No emails and no voicemails meant I was left outside the flat waiting for an agent to visit - and I only found out that things weren't going ahead when I called Belvoir myself to ask what was going on! Third time's a charm? Not in my experience with Belvoir - would not recommend.
The people who work here are obviously selfish bumheads. I see their cars on the way into work speeding, cutting up traffic and being inconsiderate. A great impression of your company, especially when all of your cars have your companies name plastered all over them. Nice one.
SUPER BAD communication and service!!! Booked twice for property; the first time, they cancelled the appointment without tell me, luckily I called in the morning to confirm, then they told me 2 out of 3 of the properties were already gone. For the second time, no one turned up for the viewing! I waited for 30 mins and no one showed- even I confirmed with the office 15 mins before the appointment! Would not recommend this company to anyone.
Farcically expensive. For two people to move into a flat costs £500. Therefore, you would hope for the absolute highest quality of service from Belvoir. Instead, when showing us the flat, the agent arrived unable to get into the property as they didn’t actually have a key; we were therefore left to wait four and a half hours while they sorted this. In the meantime, having been told in the first place that they operated a first come first serve basis and that, being the first to view the property, we would be able to take it off the market simply by paying the holding deposit (we checked this fact clearly on the phone), they then announced that this was not how they operated at all. Instead, all the people who had viewings that day were able to provide their details in order for the landlord to decide on the most suitable applicant. As we were becoming by the stage fairly desperate to secure a property, this muddle made the whole process considerably more stressful than necessary. Anyway, by signing a document that looked to have been proof-read by an 8 year old with a short attention span, we secured the property. Then, upon moving in, we found that we had not been provided with enough sets of keys (1 instead of 2 for a 2 bed flat) despite the fact that they had known for several weeks that two people would be living there. Notifying them of this, we were told to bring a receipt for getting a new set of keys cut to the office and we would be refunded. Having done this, we were told this was not in fact the way it worked. Overall we are happy with the property, and when the agent has the property want you don’t have much choice, but Belvoir are definitely not worth the £500 they charge.
Was lied to during the viewing, told that what I later found out to be the visitors parking slot was supposed to be the parking slot for the property I viewed and now rent. It was a hassle to get a fence off from the actual parking slot for the property, which by the way is terrible and if I would've known that was the actual parking slot I wouldn't have rented this property. When we arrived the property was in a very bad state. The walls were extremely dirty, with holes and the carpet has a lot of stains in it, which makes me think it hasn't been professionally cleaned for years. You can tell very little had been done in terms of maintenance for many years and many tenants before us. Had to complain a lot in order for them to come to their senses and actually fix the property to be in a livable and decent state. They agreed to only paint the walls and for this fixes we have waited for more than a month and it still hasn't happened yet. Very unprofessional in their responses when I brought up these issues and blamed me for not seeing how bad the property was during the viewing and implying that I had to put up with it. Terrible experience overall. Would never rent from them again or ever want to deal with them again.
Awful - Worst Experience Ever! - When viewing the property we were lied to so they could get our money they told us it was fully managed by them but after paying all of our money they tell us its nothing to do with then. We got the keys to move in and the flat was disgusting, there was a worm in the toilet and the flat stank of waste. The landlord was impossible to get hold of and the agents were near to useless. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! We have managed to get our months rent back but they say we cant have our £450 fees back. Well I'm going to fight to get them back my solicitor has given me advice I know my rights and they should not of kept the fees!!! Please don't deal with this company trust me on this!!!
I have used Belvoir twice in the past, the first time through choice, the second time through necessity. The first time, I chose Belvoir as their office was clean and professional looking, the staff were helpful and friendly. Once I had moved in and paid the very high fees, everything went downhill. The first room I rented was badly maintained. One day in October, the heating stopped working. Winter + England + No Heating was ridiculous. It took 3 months of emailing, and calling them every day and after 3 months, a friend came around and fixed the heating himself. Belvoir did not manage to sent anyone out until late February at which point I told them we had already fixed it ourselves. Not even an apology from Belvoir. The second time I rented with them I was moving out from my partner's to get away. Again, ended up paying stupidly high fees which explains why the office looks good! Again, terrible reply time for any maintenance or to any issue asked of them, but they're happy to demand extra money for every little thing they do. Not to mention when the Landlord took back the house, Belvoir billed me for it! Then also billed me for providing a reference for another property, plus their response time delayed me getting the keys for the new place. Worst experience of my life. They screw their tenants over and then charge them for being screwed over. They promise to contact you and they never do.
Estate agents as a whole are appalling in Cambridge, but these guys just might be the worst. Out for themselves, don't care at all about the renters OR the landlord and will happily play them against each other. Took them over a MONTH to fix faulty windows and plumbing for toilet. OVER A MONTH
