While I appreciate how polite the team at Tristram's have been, my application for an urgently needed rental has been badly mismanaged and delayed. I've been left very extremely upset and stressed out after having been given the wrong vouch form initially to fill out delaying my application by a week and then 3 days before the tenancy was due to start on the 27th Aug I was told by the person managing my application, who had just been in contact with the landlord, that the room which I had reserved (and paid a deposit/reservation fee for prior) was not actually avaliable nor were any of the same type of room available and that I may have to choose a higher priced room which was particularly distressing given the cost of living crisis we are facing. To confuse matters further I had been in contact with another team member at tristrams who had also spoken to the landlord but the landlord had not told them that the room was reserved and I was sent (another) reservation form for the property with some updated details - even though earlier that day I had been told the room was not available for me anymore. I am having to chase this agency up lots to try and sort out these issues which have occurred entirely on their side but I can rarely get through and when I do get through I am told I'll get a call back when the people managing my application are free but I then do not get a call back and its on me again to chase the acency up. I'm very confused and upset with this experience as it now seems I won't be able to move in on the day the letting acency told me I would be able to and I will be stuck without a home if these delays persist any longer. I'm happy to amend or remove this review if the problems are resolved but for the time being I do not recommend this agency, the staff are lovely but their service has left me feeling panicked and distressed :(
Wouldn’t recommend renting from Tristram's unless you want to be put on hold and told no one in the office is available everytime you call up with an issue. As well as having emails ignored We are having to deal with a brown damp ceiling from a previous leak. We as tenants are living in fear that the ceiling will cave in when we are trying to wash up.
They put drug using trouble causing students in a lot of their houses, squeezing as many as possible into one house to maximise profits. They don't care about the trouble it causes for neighbours.
Shocking customer service. Turned up to a viewing (with person from Tristrams), tenant not expecting us and refused entry. I was promised a call the following morning first thing to rearrange. Nothing. Rang them, someone 'thinks it's let' - but no one available to discuss as short staffed. Don't waste your time.

We viewed a property and were 1 of only 2 applicants (which was sold to us as ‘a huge amount’) to then be strung out day after day, for over a week, to then be turned downOne time we called for an update and were told the agent dealing with the property had COVID and wasn’t in the office so we’d need to wait an extra week, to then find out he was in the office and had scheduled more viewings - but was insistent that the landlord hadn’t rejected us.A promise of “I’ll call you back today” never materialised and after another call this morning we filling out we weren’t getting the property. Great way to treat potential customers and to use COVID as an excuse is disgraceful considering the current climate.So be very careful using this estate agency as they are far from transparent with you.
