We had the unfortunate experience of renting off this company for 4 years. Desperately unprofessional. No repairs are completed they will gaslight you when you report anything. Constant change of property managers. The manager tried to evict us despite the landlords instructions. Helen seemed to think it was her property. The judge dismissed their property possession order after our barrister revealed several flaws in their paperwork. Money grabbing business who are only interested in lining their own pockets, We will be reporting to HSE and Trading Standards as they don’t know how to run a letting agents.

I don't feel it necessary to go into detail about how you behaved as tenants as I don't think there will be enough characters allowed in this box. I wish the new letting agent luck when dealing with you all at least the very professional and hard working team here won't have to put up with your abuse. We are particularly pleased with the way everything has turned out. Just to note we had very open communication with the property owner at all times and we have parted company on excellent terms as they agreed we could not have done more to manage the property professionally with you in residence. Aggressive bullies. Kicked me out with 2 kids when my relationship ended. All I did was asked to change the date of the rent payment which has never been missed. Trying to charge me hundreds of pounds just to change the date. Avoid

To call us aggressive bullies is unfair without evidence as we are not aggressive to any of our tenants, but we do have specific processes that we have to follow. The information you have put in your review is false, as you know, we are not trying to charge you hundreds of pounds. What we have asked you to do is clear your arrears, pay the pro rata amount for the date change and pay a small admin fee for the change in contract, this is standard practice. We are sorry that your relationship has ended, and we have tried to make contact with your ex-partner to remind him of his financial responsibilities regarding this tenancy. We are happy to help you find another property, but our priority remains to support tenants in maintaining stable living conditions, but this requires adherence to agreed-upon terms. Would give zero stars if an option. More than doubled our service charge upon arrival. Unhelpful, severely overpriced for what they offer. If I was to buy a flat / apartment again, I would actively stay away from any properties under their watch. Landlords seem to like them, tenants or owners don't.

Bad my daughter is renting property from Northwood and has paid her rent 600 pound every month mybe 1 or 2 days late has had a letter saying that garanture has stopped her ex husband they have treated her Bad the room her son is sleeping in is full of damp and they say there is nothing they can do but they still want 700 pound a month don't rent froare bad i am ringing them tomorrow if anything happens to my 16 year old grandson i will be in touch

Dear Linda Thank you for your review it is always good to get feedback from people, even if you are not one of our customers. Regarding the rent payment, we do let our tenants know when they move in to one of our properties that we expect the rent in on time every time and unfortunately we have to chase her every month as the rent is late. The guarantor does not want to be the guarantor anymore and your daughter needs a guarantor because of her financial situation. She has been given a couple of months to find a new guarantor, so lots of notice. The flat is on the 2nd floor so if there is any evidence of damp this is not caused by the property but rather condensation due to lifestyle. Your daughter has been advised how to live to avoid this by getting the right balance of heating and ventilation in the property. We tried to get in touch with your daughter to let her know about the rent increase but unfortunately she doesn't respond to our phone calls or emails. I note you haven't telephoned us regarding this. I apologise for the delay in responding to your comments but I had to read through them several times to try and understand what you were trying to say due to the lack of spelling and grammar. Unfortunately, I have rented a house through Northwood and found out the hard way, there is no communication between tenants and your house manager, they will tell you that they will fix something and you won’t hear from them for around a month and counting… When you chase this up, you are told that staff will call you and you don’t hear anything for 4 full days. There has been occurrences where staff tell the tenants that there house manager is off, and when you next speak to the property manager they tell you that they were in this day. I am very upset with my experience with Northwood.

Dear Lily, thank you for your review and feedback. I am disappointed that you have not been in touch with our office to let us know you are not happy. When you first moved in you were given a complaint handling guide. You have chosen not to follow this but to go on Google instead. When we have had reason to contact you we have always asked if you are OK and you have always said yes and on one occasion said "perfect". We do try to explain to all tenants the process of liaising with property owners and contractors and this doesn't happen immediately as contractors have other jobs on their books. Feel free to get in touch with us about anything you are not happy about and have a conversation with us, rather than being a "keyboard warrior" as I can see you have done with other companies.

Worste experience of my life dealing with Northwood. I have been a good tenant for over 5 years an how I was treated was unbelievable

Had a terrible time with this company, left my daughter and 3 young children from christmas day for 4 days without heating or hot water and no phone number for emergency, still waiting for an apology off the manager, and then had the audacity to charge her for bin removal when she moved out, even though her bins were full when she moved into the property. I would not recommend this money over people type of agency to anyone.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

I am sorry that you feel we are a "money over people type of agency" but I do not believe this to be true. We do have an emergency number for tenants that call the office out of hours so they can be connected to a member of staff straight away. Unfortunately your daughter did not call this number, if she had we would have been able to deal with the issue the same day and avoided her any stress. With regard to any deductions from her deposit we are very clear with all tenants what is expected when they return a property and we offer them a pre-check inspection so we can give them advise on what is required for them to return the property and receive their full deposit back, your daughter cancelled this meeting that was offered to her. I would like to wish you and your daughter a Happy New Year and a healthy 2021.

Rented a house last year from the Heswall branch. It has put us off renting forever. Various maintenance incidents removed without discussion (including a hole in the wall) poor communication, took ages to fix electrical failure and forged eventual paperwork (date of initial inspection incorrect) - probably because new law states they have to fix within set period of time. Funny how when we mentioned this we had an electrician with us in days after being told we'd have to wait a year. Tried to fob us off by saying it was when the 'decision' was made, however the document clearly states 'date of inspection'. We improved the property by painting the blue hall a more neutral colour and changed the orange carpet similarly. Asked for a contribution after terrible service forced us to leave. We were told this had never even approved by the landlord (we received paperwork approving the work). We were granted permission to have a cat, then this was retracted 4 months later. The blame here was placed on an ex employee not sharing the information. We were informed by a friend of the landlord that he had a special arrangement where he pays more for a 'no fuss' agreement. They regularly blamed the landlord for being slow to approve things and suggested he was difficult. However looking at other low ratings it doesn't seem like we were the only one with this problem. Hard to know what to believe. The Directors Joanne and Dereck seemed reasonable when we met and spoke to them, as did most of the other team. They even apologised which was nice, however the follow up was again poor. We were told to share a letter requesting contributions to work carried out from the landlord so that they could speak to him. We chased and chased to be told the landlord won't contribute because he knew nothing about the work!? I just cannot fully put into words how horrendous this agent is from a renters perspective. Not really sure why we didn't deserve basic and decent customer service. When we spoke to the office about complaining we were told 'there is no point - nothing will come of it' . I actually believe this to be true, so waited a few months to calm down before writing this review. I just couldn't leave this unsaid.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
