Unhelpful rude lettings agent. Apparently none of their Landlords like young familes because of possible wear and tear on their property. Ridiculous really (never had an issue before and hold a security deposit in the unlikely event) Avoid.

If you are looking to sell your property with Prospect Estate Agents in Reading! Do not go with them! I had a call back from them to follow up on the valuation they gave me! The estate agent on the phone was going on and on and on trying to get me to go with them when I already chose an estate agent! They were bad mouthing the estate agent I went with too! This is very unprofessional! I was dealing with an estate agent called Toby from Reading! He was going on and on and on! When I was happy with my decision to go with the estate agent I wanted! They even called the estate agent I went with liars!!! This is very unprofessional attitude! Should have just said “thank you and yes that’s fine” not go on and on about this! Trying to sell and sell! I would never go with you now on this basis! They were trying to put my property on the market for £20k less than i wanted it on for too!! Terrible and unprofessional to bad mouth a competitive business Edit: Dated 1st April 2025 another estate agent from Prospect called Luke today called me up! He called me up 3 times!! When I told him leave me alone and don’t contact me again!!! He called me 3 times!!! This is now harassment and I am going to get the police involved!!!

Prospect is not trustworthy. Make sure to ask your peers about Prospect's reputation before committing to anything. Remember that estate agents serve the landlord's interests, not the tenant's, and they might conveniently overlook tenants' rights either due to negligence or bad faith. Read the law and know your rights. Read carefully every piece of legal they produce, only communicate by writing, and keep your copies. The most intriguing thing is that even the landlords I've spoken with haven't vouched for Prospect. Avoid.

If I could I’d give 0 stars I would, they treated me so bad. They charged 400 for cleaning after a month of living there, house had be cleaned, 300 damaged theyre were absolutely no damages and they still charged me. I rented a flat from Prospect and vacated it on December 14th, its been 2 months and they didn't return my holding deposit yet, they inspected the property along with the landlord when I handed over the keys to them, and said in a week we will deposit the deposit or 1st week of January as they might be going on holidays. After holidays when I asked about the deposit they said that owner is asking for 700 pounds for deductions, I lived for 8 months only in that flat. they asked me to file the TDS case if I am not in acceptance with the deductions. I filed the TDS dispute, not sure how long it is going to take it solve.

They could not be less professional, and insist on tying their hands behind their backs using the useless GoodLord web site for references. Most renters require 30 times the monthly rent. If you're shopping for a house at 3,000 pm, you'll need 90,000GBP. Anyone with that capital would have it investing in the stock market. That's not acceptable for GoodLord. You'll have to sell all your shares and convert them to cash. Absolutely ridiculous. So you're living in your new house losing earnings every day? I don't think so.
