AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU NEED A QUICK HOUSE SALE!! WE WERE LEAD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE SELLING OUR HOUSE FOR AN AGREED PRICE FOR 8 WEEKS. Avoid this company at all costs!!! I am a Chartered Accountant and my husband and I fell for the company's charm and customer service but have been taken along for a ride. Please take the time to read the negative reviews before engaging with this business. There are alot of positive reviews on here but notice that none of these people have gone through the process of trying to sell their property which we have! From our experience the property buying company are an intermediary with a large network of property investors and will string you along with signed contracts and surveyors and estate agents visiting your house, leading you to believe that they will sell your house for you until the very last minute! What a truly awful company...they even go so far as to report negative reviews on Trustpilot!
LOTS of one reviews giving 5 stars I would not trust those reviews. The company say they will not give you full price but a ‘fair’ price..cough..cough. They would rather you give your house away. The prices quit are are laughable. They are a joke. No wonder the pay fast as they want to get the ‘steal’ done ASAP so you lose your home to a rip off merchant. AVOID. ....and remember lots of 1 reviews.
The Property Buying Company arranges the sale of my flat to another company. They ended up making me pay fees and dropped the offer price by 10k, after they had exchanged contracts. I was buying a property more expensive and would have lost more to pull out of the sale. On completion day I was chasing them because the buyer they found hadn’t even set money to their solicitors. I almost failed to complete on my new property as by the time they managed to get money to my solicitor, the estate agents selling my new property we’re about to close. I sold 2 other properties in the 18 months prior to this and my sale through the property buying company was one of the most stressful experiences of my life.
Wow what a truly awful experience I've recently had with the property buying company (tpbc). I've been strung along for 4 weeks (was emigrating abroad in 2 weeks time from potential sale). An agent from TPBC came and viewed my property and subsequently went away and made an offer of 125000 which I had to turn down. The company then came back with an improved offer of 130000 which I reluctantly accepted. All seemed to be going smoothly and I was constantly reassured by the company that the offer would stand, that the employee they sent had made a fair valuation and that there should be absolutely no need to worry. How niave I must have been to believe that. Over a month went by with me being reassured that there would be no issues, and to carry on with my plans. After waiting for 4 weeks the company came back to me with an offer of 106,000. Which is clearly a huge difference between that and the 130,000 for which the contract was signed. The house has subsequently been valued and put on the market at 165k. These people know every trick in the book and will hide behind any excuse they can muster, and believe me, they can muster. I'd genuinely advise anyone to avoid this company like the plague. They will happily guide you right up poop creek and leave you there without a paddle. Please do not tust the positive reviews on here I genuinely think many are fake. Notice they don't go into much detail, or are from people that haven't sold a house with these scammers. Please read the 1star reviews. So now I've found myself in a highly stressful situation, having considering my options to register complaints with the company, then ombudsman and finally potentially will take them to a small claims court to try and get compensation for the massive costs we have incurred due to this company misleading me for 4 weeks. Im very lucky I have a great support network around me or my situation could now be really bad. Not to mention the affect its had on my mental health. It's totally thrown me sideways today, I'm just thanking my lucky stars I have people around me to now pick me up and help with selling the house on the market whilst I'm in the USA, which has added costs that wouldn't have been accrued had I been able to sell myself had I not been mislead for 4 weeks. Cany you try and imagine if I didn't have that support network? My situation would be very different, I may even have been forced to accept the derisory offer they made. And I'm sure many poepl find themselves in that very situation. Please keep in mind that I turned down a offer of 125k for TPBC to come back with another offer of 130k and then offer me 106k. Disgracefull conduct in my eyes considering id already made it clear 125 was not good enough. They Should've walked away at that point but no. Ask yourself why they would do this. And they reported my negative review on trust pilot. Proceed with caution brothers and sisters. Its been beyond a mere 'negative experience'. Bunch of ✊💦 ⚠️☢️☣️
If you read the reviews and think it's fishy that all the good reviews only happened a week ago then go with your gut. They tell you they'll complete in 4 weeks, they drag it out costing you thousands extra in mortgage payments and other costs. They reduce the offer price. They tell you they'll exchange contracts by a certain date then don't get back to you so you don't know you haven't exchanged. Promised completion dates postponed without agreement but you aren't told until they decide to exchange so you can't pull out. Honestly the worst company ever. They are initially all very nice but then near exchange they'll call you but not let you speak trying to railroad you. Sadly my other half is a push over and they took full advantage of that fact.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value
Wouldn’t give me an offer until I placed my number and email. Still didn’t receive an online offer. Now I am constantly receiving numerous calls and emails about this. Dont say you can get an offer online when this is not true.
All property buyers are cheating profit makers Answer to your reply Since when has facts been fraudulent?
We understand that companies such as these need to make a profit, we were firstly offered 130,000 then 125,000 to which we accepted for a quick sale. We found a new home we put down our deposit and paid legal fees as everything was at legal stage, even my children's schools had been arranged. Right at the last minute this company decided that they couldn't proceed with the sale unless we accepted a 105,000. That's a 105,000 for a 3 bedroom semi originally valued at 165000. We have lost alot of money and this company really do not care. Proceed with caution, they will offer you a deal then change the goal posts last minute, hoping you will be that desperate and too far down the chain to not accept their low offer.
