Terrible terrible estate agents. Please don't give them your home to let out!

Had to get housing standards involved after the damp and mould started damaging the property. These people care very little for tenants and treat people with a great lack of respect or common decency. If anyone else is being down trodden by Northwood I urge you to contact housing standards.

As I am sure you know, we and the owner did everything we could whilst you were living there but unfortunately the issues were beyond our control. As you know we had work done before you moved in and had no signs this hadn't worked. We wish you all the best in your new property.

So rude and condescending. Tried to explain 3times that we had done our research and knew we would needed start dates before applying for a property and all we were looking to do was register and see properties so we knew what we could get and could strike as soon as we did get start dates but this woman went on and on and just ignored me. In the end i gave up wasting my breathe on such a patronising ignoramous. Suffice to say we will not be renting (or buying which is what we will be doing in 6-12months once we have decided on an area) with these people. Cannot believe how rude she was, came home and told family and they had a horrible experience with these as well. Don't waste your time!

Unfortunately with any of our properties, tenants do have to confirm their personal circumstances including their working situation. If this is not provided we are unable to book a viewing or take it any further.

Successful Property Ombudsman ruling against Northwood Preston. They acted in a terrible way towards me as a landlord who had been with them years and refused to pay not only rent due on their guaranteed scheme but also left my property full of rubbish. They then tried to fight to case when I bought it before the ombudsman. It is a shame that they were not just able to admit they were wrong and compensate me accordingly.

We must however point out that that you requested the sum of £2267.00 from The Property Ombudsman, the actual award made to you was for just £120.00. The report from The Property Ombudsman also highlights that you as landlords did not undertake any decoration or upkeep to the property. No works were undertaken for a period of just over 8 years which therefore contributed towards your property’s deterioration. We always acted professionally during our management of the property, as we feel has been demonstrated by the value of the claim actually awarded during this investigation. The outcome of the investigation we feel is fair and highlights the importance of having an independent investigation for both parties.

First of all, we had to get the police involved because the situation got so bad. I would literally give Northwood Preston 0 stars, but unfortunately that's not an option. This branch is operated by the Ward family and I can honestly say that they are the worst people I've ever had to deal with in my 28 years of being in Preston. Rebecca and Sue Ward are both condescending, rude, ignorant and vile human beings. They failed to sort out even the most simplest of matters regarding the house and took way more effort than necessary. In the end we fixed the leaky sink and replaced the locks on the doors at our own cost because nothing would have been done about it otherwise. During the moving out process, Sue and Rebecca became increasingly hostile and erratic, holding back mail and attempting to withdraw a positive reference to out new estate agent a day after they'd given it, lying and saying that we had a dog. The situation got so bad that we actually had to go to the police and file a report because of the mail opening, the withholding of mail.and the constant nuisance calling from Sue Ward telling us that 'the wardrobe needs replacing' despite them having agreed what was going to be deducted from the deposit 3 weeks prior. The Northwood Preston branch needs to be avoided at all costs. Even if they were selling/renting my dream house I would never deal with them again under any circumstances. They are persistent liars and incompetent beyond anything I've ever experienced before. On top of everything, you can't even make a complaint as the Director of the branch is one Peter Ward and any matters brought up fall on deaf ears as he's the owner of this particular franchise. Surely one branch can only operate like this for so long before collapsing under it's own wrongdoings.

As is very often the way when a negative review is left on a public domain, the facts left by this previous tenant do not in any way resemble the truth, if any truth at all. Using naming and shaming specific people to try negate the actions that these tenants took including not paying the rent, is a feeble and cowardly course of action. Time will not be wasted going into a he said she said situation, but it is suffice to say that the squat like condition that the tenants left a lovely family home to include but not exclusively, animal faeces, damage to numerous items and fittings of the property ( why someone would want to rip down a wall light and fill in the hole with a live wire in is beyond comprehension) , no cleaning appeared to have taken place in a very long time and a complete disregard for the work that their family had to do and pay out to rectify it. There are countless photographs proving the horrendous condition the property was left in that again, their review doesn’t seem to touch upon. As a final remark, the police when contacting us found the situation not in the least bit in the tenants’ favour after they were told the full story, and wished us luck having to deal with the tenants.

Completely awful. Have to chase them for months to get a single thing done. They always just say the standard "Okay, we'll get it sorted" and then you have to chase them a month later, only to find out they've not done it - rinse and repeat. Would not recommend to anybody.
