This whole company is a joke. The customer service is lacking and they cancel viewings on you all the time without notice. I had to travel twice for viewings that were cancelled minutes before and they gave no explanations. Stay away from this agency unless you want to waste your time and train tickets.
Shockingly poor service so far. Will update review accordingly based on the agents behaviour and professionalism........ In response to your reply William, I don't appreciate the bolshie request to amend my review in the email received from you. The attitude towards my daughter was far from acceptable when calling to advise maintenance hadn't gone ahead as planned and keys not given to the contractor as advised, was down to the agent, not the tenants! The quality of workmanship is of poor standard, and wet loose plaster has just been painted over. Which will no doubt soon be covered in mildew once again. Blaming the previous tenants for water ingress from a broken gutter, could have been dealt with earlier if picked up on an inspection. As said will update the review accordingly, but been pushed to remove the one star review will not help!
Do not rent student houses from this estate agents. It is the worst choice you can make in your student life. I have been a tenant with Nicholas Humphreys in West Bridgford, Nottingham, for two years, out of pure necessity and need. We booked our first room during Covid-19, without inspecting the property and trusting only the pictures and estate agents that were present online. The house upon arrival was ancient and did not look like the pictures we had seen at all. It was a different house. It was also full of webs and spiders with 0 cleaning done prior to our arrival. The second house that we have resided in this year has been even worse. We have no gas and electric that is being controlled by the company so we top-up ourselves as well as pay monthly for the contract with the gas company. We get refunds for the money we top-up, however the estate agent has been giving wrong information to Unihomes. At first, our address to them was wrong, resulting in our router delivery being booked to a completely different location. That not only did refrain us from maintaining university attendance, but also made us book our own router with a separate company due to them telling us it was going to take weeks to have Wi-Fi delivered. The house itself is the landlord's house, therefore the money we are putting into the electric and gas meter are also redirected to general utilities such as lights for the front door we do not use etc. Upon invitation from the estate managers to change the meter to a digital one, they supplied the company with a false meter reading on which one was ours. That resulted in the booked period we had dedicated time to carry out the change, not being resolved, and the estate agents doing absolutely nothing about it. The house we reside in is 3 north road flat 1, West Bridgford NG2 7NG, to which we pay a very generous monthly rent. The house however is ANCIENT. It is the worst property my eyes have been laid upon. It is dirty, old and not renovated whatsoever. The floor is fake wood, so old that it sticks of the floor, the toilet was dirty when we moved in and the toilet seat has been rid of colour and dirty. They did not even bother changing the toilet seat upon our arrival. There are holes throughout the whole property, with ants moving everywhere in the house. Spiders are also present every single day, to which we try and clear them whevener we see them. Please, do not rent this property or any property with nicholas, due to them being dishonest and not careful with their tenants at all. Pictures following showing the disgust of the property.
The whole company is ridiculous. We’ve had nothing but hassle from start to finish of our student tenancy, with staff being incredibly unhelpful. The house was disgusting when we moved in and it was a mission to get things clean and fixed. We now have been ignored about getting our deposits back after numerous emails and have had no contact from them. Really do not recommend this letting agents especially if you are a student.
Had a house viewing booked for a certain time. I showed up at the time only to find they had left just before I arrived. I didn’t receive any calls to let me know. I had to spend 15 minutes on the phone trying to get through only to ultimately be dismissed.
Apologies for the short story but I honestly can't understand how anyone can rate this company more than one star. I had a tennacy with them which was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We discovered the property on Allington Avenue had an open sewer that would leak into the basement when it rained creating a draft amongst countless other issues such as mould/ bathroom flooding etc. Over the course of the year our property manager david Pike did very little to assist us. For instance an occasion where there was a leakage in the ceiling directly above another tenants bed taking almost two months to get a contractor out to resolve. It took me emailing them that i had no option but to take it further for just one problem to be solved. What had taken 2 months of ignored emails was followed up by a call less than 5 minutes after i notified them of my intention to seek legal counsel. But wait it gets worse. At the end of our time at the house we left the house in a clean condition with all seven tenants deep cleaning their rooms and communal areas. The shower room however was extremely difficult to be cleaned without professional chemicals due to the degree of mess the contractor had left in tearing apart the shower to resolve the flooding. Like Diagon alley, David pike’s lines of contact miraculously and promptly opened to inform us we had to pay over £500 for a deep clean alone amongst various other unjustified costs such as a leaf being in the room as the window was slightly open. We all know that student lettings can be stringent with the deposit but this was absolutely absurd. My advice to other tenants when dealing with these vultures . You have a contract with them they are obliged to honour as you do each time you pay your rent. Contact them in writing (email etc) to ensure there is a paper trail of your conversations. Demand they give you a timeline of the repair should be completed so you can press them when they inevitably miss these deadlines with useless excuses. Mistakes happen but If they miss the deadline more than once go straight to the council and make them aware should adequate reasoning not be given. These people are charlatans who sweat when someone actually reads the contract.
Awful experience with these and it’s only been 2 months, property had evidently not had cleaners in prior to our moving in as the place was filthy and full of mould. Our living room window had no curtain when we moved in which we have chased up to no avail. Windows we’re broken when we moved in that we had to wait to get fixed. Fuses trip when we have more than 2 appliances on at a time. Some radiators don’t turn off. Had a gas leak and not to mention rude and patronising staff. Avoid at all costs.
Absolute con artists. House was a state when we moved in. Worst thing was a mouldy chicken rotting in a bin full of water in the garden. Garden clearly hadn't been touched as it was full of the last tenant's trash. We left the place 100x cleaner than how we found it and they still had the audacity to try and take our whole deposit. Have avoided them like the plague since and pushed others away from them too.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value
