As a new landlord unsure of the legalities of letting my property, I found Northwood offered an excellent stress free service. Peggy was very friendly and helpful and explained everything I needed to know. Would highly recommend them.

Tried to enquire about a property but unable to get hold of anyone in the office (as closed) and cannot leave VM as inbox is full. Enquired by website as seem to get a rather blunt /rude response. Sadly the house has now gone but do hope the level of service improves for the next customer.

Good afternoon. I can only apologize you feel that way. Our office has been closed since April 2020 and all staff have been working remotely from home. The telephones are not monitored and as per the voicemail, we ask that any enquiries are made via email. The property in question had a high level of interest and viewings were booked from the 9th Feb, the day the property was first advertised. By the time you enquired on Saturday 13th, we were already fully booked. It is unfortunate, however under COVID, we have to be very strict with the number of viewings we undertake in order to maintain social distancing and sanitize properties in between viewings. The safety of our staff & viewers is paramount during this pandemic. Viewings are booked on a first come, first serve basis with those who enquired first being booked first. We do not accept applications from any parties who have not viewed the property as it would be unfair to those who enquired & booked first to not be permitted to view the property at the first available opportunity.

They did solve a dispute with my former landlady, as she had unlawfully entered the property during my tenancy and voided my fumigation as well as the cleanliness of the property. I was asked by Northwood to submit a 5 star review before they sorted the dispute and refunded my deposit. I could've easily taken the landlady to court. But the audacity of Northwood for a positive review in exchange for my deposit is only rivaled by the fact they didn't bat an eye lid when I asked to book viewings and they denied them even though I was in danger of becoming homeless. Absolutely do not recommend to rent with them

Awful estate agents. rented a property for a year through them and experienced broken glass in the garden when moving in, have had multiple doors fall off due being only held in by 2 screws and any minor electrical issue has taken over a month to amend. replies to emails are slow and avoiding, often simply not getting a response.

I get stressed just thinking about when we moved in. We came from another city with our toddler in tow. There was junk everywhere- an unplumbed in washing machine in the kitchen, broken bits of future outside, the garden full of old water butts and detritus. Instead of Northwood remedying these things, I had to document everything and send multiple emails to get rid of things and get things fixed. No action on mold. Such a saddening and stressful experience

I am sorry that you did not feel you had a good experience. It was disappointing that the previous tenant left the property in an unacceptable condition. We do normally sort any issues out before a new tenant moves in. That was not possible in this case, as the previous tenant was late in moving out. For that we apologise. As I hope you can see from our other reviews, that is not how we like move in's to go. However, our records show that you moved in on the 22nd January We arranged for the washing machines etc to be removed on the 1st February and the other issues to be dealt with before the end of January. We don’t ignore issues, and I appreciate this took longer than you would have liked, but we did deal with them as quickly as we could.

Avoid this company, they do not appear to have a complaint procedure in place, the person I spoke with was condescending, rude and hung up on me. They think it's acceptable to charge cleaning fees at the end of tenancy when the property was not cleaned when first moved in despite reporting this to their representative on site and a subsequent phone call. On a separate note, there was no carbon monoxide detector fitted, and it took 2 weeks to fit one. This is a legal requirement for a residential letting. I will be reporting this and their conduct to their regulators.
