As a new landlord unsure of the legalities of letting my property, I found Northwood offered an excellent stress free service. Peggy was very friendly and helpful and explained everything I needed to know. Would highly recommend them.
Tried to enquire about a property but unable to get hold of anyone in the office (as closed) and cannot leave VM as inbox is full. Enquired by website as seem to get a rather blunt /rude response. Sadly the house has now gone but do hope the level of service improves for the next customer.
They did solve a dispute with my former landlady, as she had unlawfully entered the property during my tenancy and voided my fumigation as well as the cleanliness of the property. I was asked by Northwood to submit a 5 star review before they sorted the dispute and refunded my deposit. I could've easily taken the landlady to court. But the audacity of Northwood for a positive review in exchange for my deposit is only rivaled by the fact they didn't bat an eye lid when I asked to book viewings and they denied them even though I was in danger of becoming homeless. Absolutely do not recommend to rent with them
Awful estate agents. rented a property for a year through them and experienced broken glass in the garden when moving in, have had multiple doors fall off due being only held in by 2 screws and any minor electrical issue has taken over a month to amend. replies to emails are slow and avoiding, often simply not getting a response.
I get stressed just thinking about when we moved in. We came from another city with our toddler in tow. There was junk everywhere- an unplumbed in washing machine in the kitchen, broken bits of future outside, the garden full of old water butts and detritus. Instead of Northwood remedying these things, I had to document everything and send multiple emails to get rid of things and get things fixed. No action on mold. Such a saddening and stressful experience
Avoid this company, they do not appear to have a complaint procedure in place, the person I spoke with was condescending, rude and hung up on me. They think it's acceptable to charge cleaning fees at the end of tenancy when the property was not cleaned when first moved in despite reporting this to their representative on site and a subsequent phone call. On a separate note, there was no carbon monoxide detector fitted, and it took 2 weeks to fit one. This is a legal requirement for a residential letting. I will be reporting this and their conduct to their regulators.
