Not very forthcoming or helpful. Felt like our interactions were all hard sells rather than an attempt to help us find a suitable home (we attended a viewing and this review is in response to that interaction)

My colleague advised you that we did not have any landlords who accepted pets at the moment but we would let you know as soon as we had a property on the market that was pet friendly. Someone just called me in response to an enquiry I made over the weekend. They laughed at the fact they couldn't pronounce my name properly which was incredibly insulting. I then told them my circumstances and rather than attempting to find something more suitable or even explain she wouldn't be able to help, she basically just said 'sorry no, bye'. Avoid Credential Estate Agents Ltd – Unfair Deposit Deductions I had a very disappointing experience with Credential Estate Agents Ltd and would strongly advise others to steer clear. Upon moving out of the property, they retained a portion of my deposit citing so-called "cleaning issues" — including absolutely ridiculous claims such as water marks on the sink. Yes, you read that correctly — water marks were used as a reason to justify withholding money. This kind of behavior is exactly why so many people have trust issues with letting agents. I would never recommend anyone use Credential Estate Agents Ltd. If you're a renter looking for fairness, professionalism, and transparency — look elsewhere. This is not the agency you want to deal with.

Having reviewed your case, I note that you recently vacated one of our properties. During the check-out inspection, several cleaning issues were identified — not just the 'water marks' you referenced. Please note you are referring to this issue as 'water marks' but it is in fact limescale. As outlined in your tenancy agreement, tenants are required to return the property in a condition comparable to that at the start of the tenancy. The check-in inventory and supporting documentation show that this standard was not met. You mentioned concerns about fairness. It’s important to clarify that landlords should not be expected to bear the cost of additional cleaning in order to maintain a high standard for incoming tenants. This is precisely why detailed inventories and check-out inspections are carried out — to ensure transparency and fairness for all parties involved. I must reiterate that deductions are based on fact which is documented in the inventory and checkout report with photographic evidence. I have reviewed when I first moved in and moving out was unfortunately no better. Throughout living in our flat we had many issues with the access, human faeces, rats, drug users, rubbish including animal waste which we asked for help with and we're either ignored or nothing was done. Everything that was broken when we moved in that we reported was never fixed. We had no fire safety until the last 2 months of our 2 year rent. Communication throughout was poor with many emails being ignored. I would never go through Credentials again. We then ended our contract and left and left the place as we found it and yet money was taken off due to some dust under a bed (which can't be removed) and wear and tear on the shower (which could not be changed with cleaning!). Such a stressful and disappointing agency to work with.

I rented an apartment in the credential, they did everything they could to deduct all the money from us when we left, we paid professionals to clean the apartment, I almost died with the bathroom glass falling on me, they even deducted it saying it was my fault for not having been warned before and on the day the bathroom glass fell I was having a shower and they were warned, they even deducted the mark on the wardrobe rug from my deposit, beware of them, Ollie is grossly rude, they deducted a further £100 per a light bulb that wasn't changed and they even deducted the rubbish we left in the stored bin. Don't waste your time, I don't recommend them.

I have now investigated this matter and my comments are as follows: Firstly under the terms of your tenancy agreement, you breached your tenancy by allowing a dog to stay at the property without permission. The property was brand new when you moved in, but you returned the property in a damaged condition with a soiled carpet, melted electric radiator which you failed to report to us, and a damaged worktop. We had CCTV evidence of you fly tipping your rubbish, so all deductions made are supported by evidence. Your claims that £100 was charged per light bulb is false and you should refer to your correspondence with the property manager on all deductions, which again are factual and based on supporting evidence.
