Back in April 2025 while searching for new tariffs and energy providers, I had completed an accidental sign up on huddle(Tru energies sister company)The following day I cancelled of which they accepted closure on those terms and within a 14 day cooling of period. Subsequently I went with another provider Homebox Ltd. Everything proceeded as normal until I had recieved a letter from Huddle stating that they (huddle and sister company Tru Energy) were still the suppliers of both gas and electric. To my surprise I reached on on the first instance and explained that we didn’t have an agreed contract and the response was sorry for inconvienece but it was basically a mistake and that I should pay the balance. This goes on for 10 MONTHS as I formally dispute there claims of which they were aggressive with there billings and notices. They even sent a welfare check which essentially is a home visit by someone wearing a body cam, a bit embarrassing when you have guests over. They additionally blocked 5 switch requests during this period, of which they only notified myself in December they were blocking switches. I did my research and challenged that this was an erroneous transfer, the response was that it was a ‘deemed contract’. They pushed so hard on the position that it was a deemed contract to a point I started believing them and was pushed into a position where I was accepting I had to pay under a deemed contract, at this point it’s £380 under deemed contract rates but would still have had to provide meter reading s for more accurate billing to be charged. While at the same time I was investigating Homebox Ltd for incorrect billing as the ad been charging myself for gas supply when there was no gas supply being paid as Huddle and Tru Energy had hi jacked the gas supply. I was claiming over charges from Homebox Ltd to settle the payments to huddle when my guy said I’m still right, I then bypassed huddle and went straight to Tru energy, requested an erroneous transfer request, explained what happened and they responded that I don’t qualify for a erroneous transfer request, responded back straight away and put every thing in point form: -accidental sign up -I cancelled they accepted -no contract exists. -14 day cooling off period. -huddle switch team put request in on 10 April after I cancelled. -you took over supply on the 30 April 2025. -I didn’t authorise a switch. -they had 20 days, more than enough time for corrective action. Then tru energy came back and said yes that is erroneous transfer and and will raise it on my behalf. 10 MONTHS stuck between Huddle and Homebox Ltd of the worst bundle energy companies around, 10 months of complete stress to educate them on misrepresentation, false claims, unlawful gain practices and basic understanding of Ofgem rules. Homebox Ltd recently closed my acc after law enforcement complaints and has review the over charges and compensating £450 for over charges on the gas supply. Huddle / Tru energy has offered £120 for the inconvienece! Huddle I would expect as a maximum the basic erroneous transfer error compensation under the ofgem guidelines and at most the average usage you so clearly stated in your most recent bill to the value of £700 as compensation for the length, stress and the out of my own pocket problem YOUR mistake has caused. I am going to be required to cover a bill to Octopus Energy now for a gas supply for the past 10 months. You need to act responsibly and accountable in your conduct and the damage it has caused
Moved in on the 1st December and then signed with bunch and now its 5th Feb and i owe over 850. 2 bedroom flat family of 2 kids and 2 adults charging 240 a month. This is a scam thieving company. They declined my switch. Stay far away. This is a ongoing nightmare.
Avoid at all costs. I attempted to switch away from this company on day 3, before I had even moved into the property and before they had started supplying energy. They refused the switch. Now, just two months later, they are claiming I owe £600 for a 2-bed home where I live with my son, who is at school all day. This bill is completely unrealistic and I am formally disputing it. Despite this ongoing dispute, they have blocked another supplier from taking over for the third time, saying I am in arrears. These charges are under dispute and should not be used as a reason to prevent me from switching suppliers. I have made it clear that I do not want their supply at these extortionate rates. I simply want to switch to a new supplier and resolve the billing dispute separately, but they are refusing to allow this. Do not be pressured into paying inflated bills when you can get the same service elsewhere for a fraction of the cost
Charged me £300+ for gas and electric when I live in a small 2 bed flat then proceeded to charge me £225 exit fee. My bill went from £193 to £300+ one month with no prior notice. Terrible customer service and greed. So much misinformation and I am extremely unimpressed.
Tru Energy is linked with Bunch. They locked me into a 2nd year deal and then revealed I was £4000 in arrears which seemed impossible for the size of the property. They dont even seem to be linked to the energy ombudsman both organisations are run like dodgy eneterpises avoid at all costs. Never had such issues in 20 years of living by myself.
I signed up for 'Bunch' energy supply which True Energy is associated with, when I moved into my new house. Both Bunch and True energy had been extremely unreliable. True energy is trying to charge us £250 for gas and electricity when we've been in the new place for only 2 weeks. Now we're trying to cancel the service with them and they want us to pay a £225 cancellation fee together with the £250 that they claim we've spent on gas and electricity in the 2 weeks we've been here. Mind you it's a 1 bed house with 2 people who are away at work all through the week. This service is a huge scam! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
Overcharged me for gas and electricity and refuse to allow me to switch, how is this legal
This company appears to be connected with The Bunch, and my experience with both has been extremely poor. The level of service and communication was unacceptable — it felt misleading from start to finish. I strongly recommend avoiding them if possible
Terrible quality, not what I asked for and refused to do anything about it. Zero customer service from this company. Avoid! Definitely not LED as electricity went up loads.
The company strive with misinformation, Please don't use this company, I'm paying from my nose. now I'm been told to pay a sign off fee of 200 pounds to end my contract. I requested for my account details to see what on earth I'm using in this hot summer that's making my bill 220pounds for each month yet no response. Please stay clear don't use.
