I chose this agent due to its size as I have dealt with a smaller company before who found it difficult to get a Tenant in my property. They were very professional to start and took good care of us and got someone in my property within 3 weeks which was excellent. Since then I have had a lot of issues with communication. I feel I do a lot of chasing around via emails or phone calls in order to find out if works have been completed or for invoices. I don't feel they can justify a 12.5% fee. I had a few months where the Tennant was paying late and I again had to chase up through the company to find out what was being done about it and didn't really feel like anyone really cared that much. Communication has improved a little but still not up to what I would expect as a paying customer.
Probably worst company ever, unfortunately has almost all the market in Grantham. From the beginning bad experience- we came from London to see a house and they took us to another completely different. In the end we rented something with them but it’s awful - every time you have a problem it takes ages to sort even if it’s a leak. The worst one is the fence part, that it’s really unbelievable - the fence in the garden and outside felt with the wind around 10 months ago and it’s still the same, on the ground, I can’t even go out in the garden. I sent them countless messages, emails and nothing was done. In the last mail I was pretty upset so finally they sent somebody to see it- surprise, they now realised for the outside fence they need to also speak with the council so now we have to wait for them! I must say that I did not find the letting team proactive , I actually lost at least one week rent because of that. The photos of the property online, were not as (professional) as it should be, It did not really reflect the reality of how good the house was. There was some tiles to be fixed and the agency contractor left it uneven.
Phoned on Thursday 07 February (on a very cold day) reporting that my property had no central heating. Having had no response to this, I phoned four further times during Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with no phone calls from Belvoir to myself concerning when this problem might be fixed. It was only on the Saturday, having spoken to Ali, that any positive response was given and a portable radiator was offered. I have just had a phone call advising that a plumber will be with me today (Monday) at lunch time. I find this quality of service from a reputable Letting Agency unacceptable. I shall wait in anticipation!
They truly believe they are doing a fantastic job and will get quite defensive and question any negative feedback you give. So, watch out. Only say nice things. Staff seem to change frequently, perhaps a sign of overall turnover. I understand they have many properties on their books, which understandably gives them the market edge.
Avoid at all costs
I have booked for the viewing a property at Grantham with Belvoir Lettings. I traveled all the way through Oxford to Grantham reached the property to be viewed.Then the letting agent rings just before an hour to inform that the property has been not available. Agents are not organised to keep informed about booking view. This is highly disappointing as I traveled from Oxford. I won’t recommend this letting agents.
