Very Friendly advisors...
Satisfactory letting agency. Full deposit back but not the quickest at acting on requests and use cheap labour (poor installation of replacement shower screen and windows damaged when new handles installed). Spent the first three weeks without a working boiler (this rent was eventually refunded after actioning our tenancy rights). Nice and friendly staff but do occasionally have to be chased for responses at times.
After 8 years as a landlord with Northwood, I believe their service is deteriorating quickly. Very slow to respond to emails and no-one available to talk on the phone.
They seemed majorly fine with communicating until you question why they want certain data, then they go silent. Eg in renting, they wanted guarantor's NI number, work payroll numbers and bank details which all seem unnecessary (and not needed by the company they use for credit checks, HomeLet), so it's all a bit weird and they wouldn't answer why it was needed after 3 attempts at asking. Just something to be wary of, as it certainly made us uneasy, with the information also not being on their website's privacy notice. Plus even though we didn't add the supplementary information, they still passed the forms on to a landlord in the week we were waiting for a response from them, without them having updated us without our prompting. Not a fun experience when you're searching for a property in a pandemic.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
If I could give zero stars I would. All of the service received throughout the tenancy was fine. However as the tenancy came to an end (due to the cost of living being too high) I was treated horribly. I received an email from one of the agents in an awful and condescending tone and was discriminated against due to my physical limitations due to my disability which they were aware of throughout the tenancy. Viewings were held prior to a professional clean (which I had asked the agent to organise as this was easier for me and this was fine) and then I received an email regarding the “unacceptable” state the flat was in; this included photos of marks on the wall that were there prior to us moving in, the apparently stained carpet in the bedroom when in reality it was a cheap CREAM carpet which had been walked on every single day for 3 and a half years and through lockdown where we didn’t leave the flat for the best part of 2 years, so of course this is going to be worn down (they also said that a carpet should last 7 years, perhaps it would last 7 years if it hadn’t been cheap and light coloured) and photos of various places that hadn’t been cleaned even though I had arranged for them to organise the professional clean and was more than happy to pay for a deep clean. Myself and my partner were in my personal opinion good tenants and all this company care about is finding ways to avoid returning your deposit to you.
They are scammers, racists, and bullies. Stay away from them. They will sell/rent house to someone else if they receive a £50 higher offer irrespective of your application time and the waiting queue. They will bully you and misbehave when you ask them that why they bypassed your application and broke the queue. They're very rude, arrogant and cheap, Specially * . There are many other great property dealer in the town. Hope this review will help you in the time of housing crisis in Glasgow.
