Things were perfectly fine at the start, but the tone shifted quite noticeably by the end. Once I handed in my notice, it felt like I was just something to move along quickly, simply because I was no longer a customer. The end of the …

Hi Kat, thank you for your review. The move-out process cannot be rushed. Upon receipt of the notice we issue a document confirming the move-out process which is around 1 month in advance of you vacating, this provides all information … More

Becky was extremely helpful and prompt to respond during my house purchase from Cope and Co - thank you. However I cannot rate higher than a 2, as I was not provided with all of the keys on completion. I did not get a back door key, despite going through this door on a viewing, and it being opened on the property survey. I have not been given the key - when I queried this I was told it MAY have been left in a drawer or MAY have been on the large set of keys I was given. It was neither. I now have the cost of a locksmith to change the locks on my own back door. Not a good start having just bought the house. Left a sour taste on the whole purchase process.

I have never rented from them, but I had a viewing with them the other day for three student studio flats in the same block. The flats themselves weren't too great, hadn't been cleaned and and it smelled of damp. However the biggest red flag was that since the key for one of the flats didn't work, they showed me into another one that had the same layout despite the flat being currently rented out. They did not get permission from the current tenant since she was "away for the summer anyway". I decided to not rent from them after that. Edit to respond to their comment: this is not true at all, they didn't obtain permission from the tenant and they were quite open about it as well. I also received a rather threatening voicemail from them after I originally left this review telling me to take it down.

Hi Fiona. You didn't end up renting through us so your 2 star review is based purely on your assumption that our representative entered a tenanted property without permission. Our representative contacted our office from site and they contacted the tenant to obtain permission to enter before doing so. The tenancy had been renewed from the previous academic year and the tenant was away for the summer which is why belongings were in the flat. Your comments are not a review of our services and is based only on your incorrect assumption. I therefore kindly request that your review is removed as it is totally inaccurate. Thank you.

They privately handed my tenancy back to the landlord, I didn't find it until I needed some maintenance assistance

Hi Hardly. A tenancy agreement is always between you and your landlord so don’t see how we can ‘hand it back’. If the landlord decides to change the level of management service with us and deal with any maintenance issues themselves then you would have been informed. Your review implies that you have had a maintenance issue that has not been dealt with to your satisfaction by your landlord - if that is the case then perhaps your landlord should be getting a 2 star review and not us.

Professional properties are an extremely expensive company, however their signing on board is quick and professional. Despite this their group property management is extremely slow and their fees are still ridiculously high. The new government laws that come in this year should prevent these ridiculous ‘admin fees’ and I’ll be writing to the local mp to fix this. They charge £162 per person for application fees, £162 per person for tenancy documentation. If you agree a fixed term contract a further £84 is required to renew the contract. Any additional clauses to the contract require a £48 additional charge, and a move in on Saturday requires a further £78. So if you’re looking to rent a two bed property simply agency fees without deposit can total up to £1000!!! I’ve rented out expensive properties before but out of all places I have never come across such expensive fees.

Persistent rudeness on the phone, poor maintenance, property in bad condition on handover with paint pots, wallpaper and tools scattered around the house. Claimed the property had been 'professionally cleaned' and kept half our deposit! Renter beware.

Theyll take your money with big smiles and charge you a £120 admin fee per person for the privilege. When it comes to getting it back though, don't be shocked if it takes forever. They're too busy taking other peoples money to care about you. Don't bother asking for any kind of help from these imbeciles either. It's not that they won't help, they can't because they're completely inept.
