While letting the property, John Shepherd were decent agents, with things fixed quickly. The problems start when you leave and they try and charge you from your deposit for nothing more than simple painting/cleaning. All the justification you get is "it's outside fair wear and tear", without ever receiving clarity on what that means. I urge John Shepherd, and all letting agents as a matter of fact, to put tenants first. Provide clarity on what's considered fair, challenge landlords who benefit most from renting to foot the bill for minor damages and make it all make sense.

Called to enquire about a property. I spoken with Debbie. She was not very polite. When I said the address of the property that I wanted to enquire about, she whispered under her breath "oh god" and sighed. Was not very helpful, I have been asking for the lease information on coppice court for weeks now and they say the same thing to me every time I ask...."we are waiting for it from the vendor"

They found us a great place, however, the good lord service provided to be useless and has left us nearly £2,500 in debt. Even though we told them not to open up accounts on our behalf they did, how I don't know! We have multiple council tax bills, extremely high utility charges and now threatening letters from the landlord since we spoke to him about it. Our health is deteriorating and the contacts that they gave us to make a complaint do not even exist!

This agency doesn’t deserve a star. I accidentally paid rent (£1,450) for a month after my tenancy ended and contacted John Shepherd the same day to request a refund. Instead of resolving it, they delayed for days and then only refunded £868.29, keeping £580.71 with no clear explanation. When I called to ask why, staff avoided my calls and kept promising call-backs that never happened. I still moved out that month. Now, over a year later, they’re emailing me demanding £120 for an end-of-tenancy scheme. Extremely unprofessional, stressful, and lacking transparency. I would not recommend this agency to anyone. Avoid at all cost

Disappointed in the rentals department, when enquiring about a property via telephone call and email, no response received, even when we chased and were told we would receive a return call. Poor customer service. From reading the other reviews it is clear that any prospective tenants or existing tenants are treated poorly. We will avoid at all costs Further to the response below 👇 isn’t it amazing how a bad review can prompt action. Unfortunately you should have done the right thing in the first place (as per all the other reviews below) and not tried to redeem yourself once a poor experience has been posted online. I won’t be making contact as I do not wish to engage with such a poor company. Sort your team out! Maybe some customer service training (in the area of communication would be a good place to start)
