TENANTS AVOID We moved into our property whilst relocating from abroad during the pandemic 3 years ago. Upon arriving to enter the property we were informed it was not ready for us to move in to and we (myself, my partner and 9 month old child) were left without accommodation at the last minute. When we finally moved in the kitchen floor was sticky with beer that had been spilled, the toilets were brown and the whole house stank of cigarettes. The walls, door frames and doors were dirty and damaged. During the tenancy, the tiles began to lift away from the wall in the upstairs bathroom. Contractors came out and stated the bathroom needed replacing. The owner refused to complete the necessary repairs. Water started to leak behind the tiles using the shower and leaking under the bath coming through to the living room ceiling. The owner still refused to repair it. Instead we were told to take a shower kneeling down and not get the wall wet. This was left like this for the duration of our tenancy as the owner refused to repair it and no action was taken from the estate agents. Upon vacating the property, it was in better condition than when we entered. Despite the damage caused by the bathroom leak. However, after chasing the estate agent we were informed they would be keeping our whole deposit. We have responded to this and have not received a reply. Poor service who clearly have no interest in their tenants but rather that greedy, selfish property owners keep lining their pockets.
Ive been in the property over 6 years and I never had any issues with property management of the previous estate agency prior to John Shepherd .They have no interest in sorting out issues in the property or do any refurbishments to the property in 7 years, if you report anything online they want more information- more information photos serial numbers etc (I don’t work for property management so why am I doing half of your work ?) the estate agent didn’t even know where the serial number of the hob is , so how exactly I’m supposed to know ?! how about you carry out an inspection and get the details needed ?they have an ignorant attitude and all they wanna do is sit in the office , not interested to carry out property management inspections when needed for the tenant , only the annual inspection for the landlord . This is an estate agent that don’t care about the tenants needs ! Also Julie darling I hope you are not making any commissions because your attitude screams “not interested in resolving problems “ just making money - talking to you is like talking to a wall - maybe you should educate yourself where the serial number of the hob is , please and thank you
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! I wish I didn't have to rate ANY stars. Unprofessional, uncooperative, very poor management from start to finish. I will NEVER use these estate agents again.
Most of the team are very helpful but one woman in property management is very rude and unhelpful won't give you her name it's not the main one she's ioverly and very helpful.
Took a "holding deposit" for a property and are refusing to give it back for no valid reason, after their referencing failed us! (despite being told about some old adverse credit) If you're a renter or landlord for that matter BEWARE of these cowboys!!!
An awful experience. Lots of misinformation both on website regarding the properties to let & inaccurate pictures. Once viewed misleading information about the property. In my opinion, avoid at all cost.

Have rented out property via these agents for a while now. Previously have had good dealing with Property managers and reasonable call out fees following authorsing same. However the staff have changed and seems thet most be on income targets. Please be aware that they will try to add on costs.Read terms and amend accordingly. Use your own trades persons otherwise you will regret( also ensure you add this to terms that they need to contact you before callout)Charged 260 pounds for callout to replace 2amp fuse in fused socket.Apparently this inc call out and hourly rate.don't know how long it takes to change fuse. Obviously this high fee includes a percentage for Shepherds. If you complain to property manager Julie expect a one sided conversation. In nutshell ground there are loads of other agents out there. They will not charge you for the add on this firms will attempt to charge you for.
Were pleasant until actually getting the property. Some of the staff push for you to give them a review before you even get the keys. Also please be aware that they will try to withhold your deposit so make sure to take videos/pictures in order to keep your full deposit.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value
Only get back to you when the place you were after has gone, don't call you back when they say they will
