Went to view a property we was the first people there send all documents good pay work and credit and heard nothing back must be racist
Incompetent, unprofessional, pathetic - they are a joke! Reported issues are ignored, when they promise they will back, they never back, they have problem with arranging even simply repairs in reasonable timeframes. If there are more issues, they are lost, it is too complicated for them to manage, so, waiting a half of year or a year for something, it is their standard. Their strategy are: excuses, empty promises and silence/ignoring part of the message/email. And on the end they blame tenant for their failure. I strongly discourage using their service.
Awful. We rented through them for 2 years and any issues we had (and we had a lot!) were either ignored completely or left weeks/months until anyone bothered to sort it. Now we have left and they are charging a ridiculous amount of money for basic cleaning without providing any kind of breakdown. Absolutely do NOT recommend.
I don't leave reviews very often but John Shepherd West Bridgford deserve one. I am absolutely disgusted with this unregulated letting market, trying to remove deposit money for 2 small plastic cracks in a fridge freezer and saying they will need to replace both from our deposit money. Furthermore saying they will need to have it re-cleaned despite us paying £180 for two cleaners to spend 3 hours cleaning it professionally. Prior to this when we lived in the flat we had a low water pressure problem which took them over 4 months to fix, they came up with excuse after excuse before finally offering to fix it a few weeks before we moved out (only because we had to get the council involved to sort it). We then moved into another property with them where the oven had not been cleaned (see pictures attached) yet was told it was just cleaning residue. Also the dishwasher that did not work, we were originally told to try to fix it ourselves? Thirdly in our contract it makes reference to a washing machine, yet no washing machine was present and we had to spend hundreds to buy our own. I cannot believe what these agencies try to get away with, I highly doubt they would even replace the fridge and freezer for such a small crack and new tenants who will soon move in, they just want money money money! Disgusting.

Of all the letting agents I have experienced over the years, John Shepherd have to be the worst.... in every way! Unprofessional, rude and completely clueless when it comes to supporting their tennants needs. Delays in repairs, reference requests and the deposit at the end, all took forever. These guys are totally out of touch with how quickly some requests need to be dealt with and only adds to stresses of the Tennant. Avoid if you can...

TENANTS AVOID We moved into our property whilst relocating from abroad during the pandemic 3 years ago. Upon arriving to enter the property we were informed it was not ready for us to move in to and we (myself, my partner and 9 month old child) were left without accommodation at the last minute. When we finally moved in the kitchen floor was sticky with beer that had been spilled, the toilets were brown and the whole house stank of cigarettes. The walls, door frames and doors were dirty and damaged. During the tenancy, the tiles began to lift away from the wall in the upstairs bathroom. Contractors came out and stated the bathroom needed replacing. The owner refused to complete the necessary repairs. Water started to leak behind the tiles using the shower and leaking under the bath coming through to the living room ceiling. The owner still refused to repair it. Instead we were told to take a shower kneeling down and not get the wall wet. This was left like this for the duration of our tenancy as the owner refused to repair it and no action was taken from the estate agents. Upon vacating the property, it was in better condition than when we entered. Despite the damage caused by the bathroom leak. However, after chasing the estate agent we were informed they would be keeping our whole deposit. We have responded to this and have not received a reply. Poor service who clearly have no interest in their tenants but rather that greedy, selfish property owners keep lining their pockets.
