I cannot stress enough how diabolical this company are. Absolutely negligent to both their landlords and tenants. Happy to cause extensive damage to property by not maintaining or repairing issues (including known water leaks) for many, many months that they are contracted to oversee, leaving landlords out of pocket with extensive damage to fix and tenants living in squalor. Won't respond to emails for weeks, don't return calls, ever. Will not acknowledge their repeat failings, will cost you vast sums of money due to their incompetence and neglegance. It's management companies this that give landlords a bad name.
Contacted Nothwood to rent a property, Viewed the property submitted an application, chased them with three emails never had a response to the emails, Phoned them few time always you hear different feedback. Not sure how landlords relay them on renting their properties.Very Poor customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Sadly I've had to edit this review downwards because after leaving the property we were charged £250 for "professional cleaning" despite no damages or repairs! That's ridiculous and a rip off.
The worse letting agency ever They are understaffed, not able to follow your apartment properly, especially in case of demanding tenants , and they try to charge landlords with expensive unnecessary works.
Myself and partner went to view property last week first time using Northwood (Definitely be the last) we arrived at the property no agent there we waiting for over 10mins when the agent did show she didn't introduce herself if it wasn't for the Northwood car that she was driving we wouldn't have known who she was,, she walked right past like we didn't existing she entered the property where there was someone coming out of the property that just viewed it without agent been presented which I thought every strange , so we followed her into the property we are there was another couple along with ourselves viewing the property as we entered she just left us to wander around the property without even saying anything about the property she had her phone in her hand all the time and that's all that she was really seemed concerned about we were asking her questions and trying to have a laugh and joke but she wasn't having any of it and then we was told that tenat of the property was in the property while we was having a look at which I felt a little bit uncomfortable I have viewed lots of properties in the past and this is never been the case, overall we felt uncomfortable and very unhelpful by this agent we will not be using Northwood in the future due to this ..
I would avoid Northwood at all costs. As a landlord I am appalled at how Northwood in Aberdeen treat both landlords and tenants. I had tenants move into a flat 3 years ago who reported a issue on day one, it took Northwood 2 weeks to bring it to my attention. The same tenants brought to the attention of Northwood another issue in October last year it was brought to my attention on 23rd of January this year. Only when the tenant threatened to move out did Northwood decided to alert myself. As has always been the case once brought to my attention I rectified the issue very quickly however my tenants were left with NO hot water for 4 months through a cold Scottish winter. This is an absolute disgrace. Like indicated by some of the other reviews Northwood tend to send emails at the end of a day leaving tenants and landlords unable to do anything until the following day. This often happens on a Friday where you can’t do anything until the following Monday. Despite practically begging for a phone call if anything comes up Northwood have repeatedly opted to email at the end of a day. Having gone to the property for an annual safety check it was brought to my attention by the tenant that my flat had been flooded from the flat upstairs and have been left with water damage in the property. The tenants had contacted Northwood and had a response from Northwood but no one had ever passed the information to myself. When I asked the tenant when it had happened they showed me email correspondence between the tenant and Northwood and nearly 5 months had gone by since the incident and no one felt it important to pass on so I could put right the damage. I have now been left with no option but to pursue the complaints process, I have had to contact the property ombudsman to escalate this as Northwood Aberdeen seem incapable of doing the right thing. After having potentially the value of my property put at risk and my reputation damaged by Northwoods inadequacy they made quite frankly an insulting offer towards helping fix the issues. The 5 star reviews on here need to be investigated. There are clearly fake accounts (perhaps not all but definitely a few) propping up this score which is still not great. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Pretty poor agent, the representative we met at our viewing was clearly not interested- no greeting as we knocked at the door, no tour or explanation of sockets/storage/location, etc....she was more interested in her phone! One of the worst I've came across. Then a lengthy written application has to be completed, to then not to be updated on whether you are successful or not. I had to keep calling this company, 1/10 for professionalism - a school leaver would have done this job miles better.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
Me and a friend used northwood to rent a property for about a year and a half. while our renting experience was fine, in true renting style, northwood charged us for “damages” for pins that were half in walls falling out and ignored our calls and emails for months. Refused to provide us with the invoices for the contractors they claimed had to attend the property. **EDIT POST REPLY** how can we be told to phone the office to discuss the issue when every time i phone (multiple times a week) i get told no one is available or that someone will get back to me and don’t? we have been provided 0 evidence to back up the charges and when i’ve asked for them to be provided i have been IGNORED???
