My experience of using this company was really mixed. My estate agent changed part way through purchase, Bernadette ended up looking after my case and was knowledgeable and very responsive / proactive in communication. I was grateful to have her help with navigating the process. At times I would have benefitted from more information - things like getting a Buyers Survey was never flagged to me as something I should be doing, if anything I was deterred from completing one. As a result it happened really late in the process and it was helpful and would have been more beneficial had it been done earlier so I could have used the outcome to negotiate on costs. I took the keys after buying the property from one of the agents who met me outside, no one asked for my name, let alone checked my ID which seems like an oversite when giving out keys to a property.

The lettings team at Prospect found us good quality tenants quickly, so we are very pleased with the service we received from everyone we dealt with. However, the sales team keep harrasing us with calls about selling our house through them despite being told many times we are not interested. We have complained on four occassions now but still the calls keep coming - we had another one earlier today. Sorry to air this publicly - but you did write to me asking for my views on your service! I would of awarded 5 stars to the letting team but the sales side of the company have let you down badly and we will certainly never use Prospect now for any future sales.

Poor communication and lack of effort. I listed my flat for sale with this agency and agreed on a price at the start. In six months, they managed only three viewings and barely communicated throughout — no updates, no feedback, nothing apart from suggesting a price reduction. Very disappointing experience and I wouldn’t recommend them.

Overall bad experience with Prospect. Multiple cancelled bookings two hours before I was supposed to arrive - reason given as not having access to the property or forgetting someone else had already placed an offer. They cancelled a viewing and didn’t let me know until i’d called them to confirm on the same day. Overall reluctance to offer viewings when speaking to office staff. Really poor communication and disorganisation from this team - I would avoid using if possible.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Prospects – Unprofessional and Unresponsive We viewed a property in Maidenhead through Prospects and clearly expressed our interest. We submitted our offer promptly and provided all the requested personal information. Despite this, every time we followed up, we were told that someone would get back to us — but no one ever did. We received no feedback, no updates, and were completely left in the dark. Our family is now stuck and frustrated because we were relying on their response to move forward. This level of service is unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. We expected far better from an agency like Prospects.

However, due to our referencing requirements it would have been a challenge to progress your application. As such, the landlord felt it was best to proceed with an alternative offer. Stay well away - poor service and lack of ability. I usually don't write reviews for estate agents as they get defensive when you give feedback, but in this instance the service was so bad I'm going to write a little review and hopefully they will improve. I have quite low expectations; besides showing me the property, telling me the details regarding the property and then handing me the keys....simple really! A few of the things they did wrong: Did not respond to emails 9 times out of 10. The agent would rarely answer the phone so it would just go to an automated answerphone. If you did get through to someone it would be a different area of the business who wouldn’t be able to help, they would take a message and you would never hear back. Didn’t know anything about the property they were selling. Said they would find out about various matters to do with the property and would follow up but never did. Talk badly about the seller of the property in front of me. Didn’t correspond with the solicitors during the process. Were asked to do work by the seller and got defensive and didn’t do it. Made promises about doing things or keeping to deadlines that they broke. Very unprofessional, disorganised and lacking knowledge of the property or the process of buying and selling a house. They don’t offer any more of a service than a Purple Bricks or Strike type of online estate agents. Expecting a bland response to this review asking me to email a general inbox with more details… just do the job well in the first place…

If you are looking to sell your property with Prospect Estate Agents in Reading! Do not go with them! I had a call back from them to follow up on the valuation they gave me! The estate agent on the phone was going on and on and on trying to get me to go with them when I already chose an estate agent! They were bad mouthing the estate agent I went with too! This is very unprofessional! I was dealing with an estate agent called Toby from Reading! He was going on and on and on! When I was happy with my decision to go with the estate agent I wanted! They even called the estate agent I went with liars!!! This is very unprofessional attitude! Should have just said “thank you and yes that’s fine” not go on and on about this! Trying to sell and sell! I would never go with you now on this basis! They were trying to put my property on the market for £20k less than i wanted it on for too!! Terrible and unprofessional to bad mouth a competitive business Edit: Dated 1st April 2025 another estate agent from Prospect called Luke today called me up! He called me up 3 times!! When I told him leave me alone and don’t contact me again!!! He called me 3 times!!! This is now harassment and I am going to get the police involved!!!

Have the most awful experience My mom got ill we have to go back to our country and they agree and lie to us saying was fine , then a woman call Samantha Baron just told me they will deduct £700for cleaning and damages after my mom never live there the most inhuman agency , they really don’t care about people at all , shame of you Prospect The most awful experience This agency is terrible After we Move be wise of my mom illness The landlord agree to pay the full deposit For a house full of mild that I have clean myself Now they took £700 For cleaning ( that I have already pay someone else ) and damage when no one has live there Shame of a company like this Completely inhuman That’s what they do to I’ll people rip them off with no explanations
