The sign Daniel Adams placed outside my house today, with neither my permission nor authority, read "To Let"; bloody news to me Danny Boy!

Don't trust this estate agents. He will get you the worst deal possible for your property. I'm not even sure he's not corrupt. Reply:- no it's definitely your agency. "We pride ourselves on providing professional and honest service" what a joke that is. It should say "we pride are selves getting the worst possible price for you and a quick sale for us". So my review still stands. Many Thanks

Thank you for your follow up message. As we’ve mentioned previously, without more specific details regarding the property or an opportunity to speak with you directly, we’re unable to provide further comment. Please know that we take your accusations very seriously. Having been in business for over 18 years, we remain committed to securing the best possible price for our clients within the prevailing market conditions. While we strive to meet expectations, we cannot always guarantee that market outcomes will align with personal goals. However, we would never/could never pressure any client into accepting an offer they were uncomfortable with. We sincerely wish you all the best and encourage you to contact the branch directly if you would like to discuss your concerns further.

Ruined the experience of buying my first home. Unprofessional.

Hi Jim, I am sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. Please could you provide me with the property you bought, so i can look into this further for you. I have looked at your other reviews and it looks like you may have bought the house you are referring to 2 years ago, as one of your reviews relates to a poor solicitor service you received when buying your first property. You have just added our review today. We take all reviews seriously, so would appreciate the opportunity to respond once we have investigated. many thanks

We bought our 1st home through Daniel Adams. It was rented, Daniel Adams also acted as property managers for it. The 1st warning sign was our viewing. Charlotte showed us the property and there was a lot of tension between the residents and herself. After our offer was accepted, the vendors were tricky. They wouldn’t send forms across, when they did they hadn’t been completed correctly. From a legal perspective, we couldn’t safely accept them. Despite this, Daniel Adams kept insisting we should accept and threatened us repeatedly with putting the property back on the market. It was a strange sale and I expect that the staff were getting a lot of pressure from vendors. DAs were very much on side with them though; they suggested we were to blame for any delays and blamed our solicitor for delays, which just wasn’t the case and wasn’t helpful with resolving issues. There was a lot of unhelpful and poor communication. It was a horrendously stressful experience and we came close to pulling out of the sale - it’s great they were looking after the vendors but considering the sale almost fell through several times, I’m not sure they were doing a great job of facilitating it. Daniel Adams managed the property for years, and should have known specific details about the property. Charlotte misled us on details that only came to light mid way through the sale. this was then denied of course. Neal was, on the surface, a pleasant character. But I politely disagreed and was a little terse on the phone with him - I was taken aback by how quickly he got incredibly rude, nasty and aggressive. He has a short temper and can be very aggressive. I’ve never been spoken to like that before by someone in a professional capacity. Lorraine was fine. She wasn’t aggressive and responded to emails. But… the underlying feeling was that she viewed us as being completely and totally in the wrong and we felt she put a lot of unnecessary pressure on us. I have no idea why the vendor didn’t want to sign certain sections, or provide basic information on the property in straightforward, standardised forms - but Daniel Adams really did not help move things forward. Buying a first property should be an exciting and happy moment, but the day we picked up our keys was tense and awkward. The atmosphere in the office was awful - staff in general seemed disinterested and bored. I know a lot of estate agents will provide a welcome card or small welcome gift - no such service at Daniel Adams. When we got into the property on the first day, it was a mess. There was rubbish strewn around the kitchen. The property was filthy even though it had been lying empty for months. I didn’t expect much from our vendors but I was disappointed that Daniel Adams hadn’t even checked the property over before handing us the keys in their capacity as property management. We spent the first week cleaning up the dust and dirt that had accumulated. Now we are looking to sell and move, we actively avoid properties being sold by Daniel Adams. Knowing how poorly they manage the sales process, I wouldn’t trust them to sell our property either. They might be cheaper than some other estate agents in Coulsdon but the hassle just isn’t worth it. No doubt Neal or similar will reach out and comment under this review and ask me to get in touch - but I have zero interest in getting in touch to discuss my experience, especially in light of how aggressive he was. Daniel Adams staff knew they were treating us poorly but they didn’t care, so long as they got their commission. There are too many estate agents on the high street to risk it with this lot. For your own sake and your future buyers sake, please avoid. In response to the comment below: I didn’t publicly name individuals. I gave first names of representatives of the company in a public review and our experiences of dealing with them. I don’t think you need details of our specific sale to take onboard feedback regarding rudeness, aggression or unfair pressure on buyers.

Good afternoon, I am sorry you felt the service you received was not what you were expecting. Without knowing any further information to who you are or what you bought, it is impossible for us to comment. I understand from your review you don't want to discuss this any further, however we would like the opportunity to speak to you, or at least look into your case file. I do think if you are going to publicly name individuals, they should at least be allowed an opportunity to respond.

BE AWARE of sharing your personal details with them. When we put an offer of a property, Daniel asked us if it is fine for a company called AWS to call us back to check if we are financially qualified for the offer and at the same time he will put in our offer. NOTE the wording they are using "financially qualified" and also do not tell the full name of the company. What they mean "financially qualified" for an offer is in fact to pass your information to a company called AWS mortgages and private finance to sell you mortgages. It is totally a stealing of concept and misleading to get your permission to pass your details to their mortgage brokers. We received a call from a personal mobile number from this AWS private financial company requesting our further details and selling our mortgage products a day after our offer was rejected. We told them there is no point of checking now. We thought check "financially qualified" is to check whether you are serious buyers and have everything in place. We do not expect our personal information to be passed to any in house service. Should they be clear about "AWS" as a mortgage broker to contact us, we will not give our permission to share our data. We are fiercely angry being mislead. But Daniel defended that check you "financially qualified" for an offer is the process they followed for every buyer and the company will tell them how much the buyer can afford to borrow. In another term this is what they mean by having their mortgage broker to contact you. So BE CAREFUL they are more interested in selling your data than a house. Shamed estate agency. Their reply is not true. From all our conversations, Daniel is the only person we spoke to. From start to the end Daniel sticked to the wording "financially qualified". We asked him what is AWS He never mentioned "Mortgage Broker and Private Finance" on the call. Financial credit score check company and mortgage broker are different in nature. Daniel told us AWS is the company that carries financial checks for them is an intention to mislead buyers to pass the details. SUPER CAREFUL of the twist this agency plays. Agency is not qualified to verify buyer's finance but normally asks for AIP to be in hand. On the other hand, Daniel agreed to remove our details from their system completely. However he still kept it to contact us after we wrote the review. A NAUGHTY estate agency.

Morning, I am sorry you felt we did not inform you regarding financially qualifying your offer. As a matter of due diligence, and following estate agency best practise, any offer we receive will always be qualified financially. We appoint AWS mortgages and private finance to do this for us, as we are not qualified to ask such questions. I have played back the conversations you had with my member of staff, and this was very clearly explained. In fact you phoned back five minutes later to verify who AWS were. I have also tried to call you this morning to explain this, but unfortunately you put the phone down on me. Once again i can only apologise you were not happy with this process, but we do need to qualify all offers on behalf of our sellers.

We rented a property through them. Repairs taking in excess of 3 months to be followed up on, constantly blaming the landlord for their lack of action, taking weeks to respond to emails, requiring us to follow up several times, etc. On top of this, the inaction and patronising manners of Sarah, the property manager left much to be desired - thankfully she left the business.

If you are a student and looking for an estate agency STAY AWAY. The people here and the landlords they work with will literally scam students, charge outrageous prices from deposits.

I am sorry you feel you have received a poor service from ourselves. Your comments are quite unusually however, so is it possible to expand a little more. We do not charge a tenant any fees for a rental, the only requirement is a 5 week security deposit, and 1 weeks rent to secure it off the market which is deducted from your costs before you move in.

I'm a keen and interested buyer who is in a good position to purchase quickly but was blocked from even viewing a nearby property by this estate agent and it's owner! Who were exceptionally negative and over-zealous and rude! They did not even offer in the first instance to contact the owner and explain my position - of course they couldn't because they didn't even spare a couple of minutes to understand it! Highly unprofessional - awful people
