We bought our 1st home through Daniel Adams. It was rented, Daniel Adams also acted as property managers for it. The 1st warning sign was our viewing. Charlotte showed us the property and there was a lot of tension between the residents and herself. After our offer was accepted, the vendors were tricky. They wouldn’t send forms across, when they did they hadn’t been completed correctly. From a legal perspective, we couldn’t safely accept them. Despite this, Daniel Adams kept insisting we should accept and threatened us repeatedly with putting the property back on the market. It was a strange sale and I expect that the staff were getting a lot of pressure from vendors. DAs were very much on side with them though; they suggested we were to blame for any delays and blamed our solicitor for delays, which just wasn’t the case and wasn’t helpful with resolving issues. There was a lot of unhelpful and poor communication. It was a horrendously stressful experience and we came close to pulling out of the sale - it’s great they were looking after the vendors but considering the sale almost fell through several times, I’m not sure they were doing a great job of facilitating it. Daniel Adams managed the property for years, and should have known specific details about the property. Charlotte misled us on details that only came to light mid way through the sale. this was then denied of course. Neal was, on the surface, a pleasant character. But I politely disagreed and was a little terse on the phone with him - I was taken aback by how quickly he got incredibly rude, nasty and aggressive. He has a short temper and can be very aggressive. I’ve never been spoken to like that before by someone in a professional capacity. Lorraine was fine. She wasn’t aggressive and responded to emails. But… the underlying feeling was that she viewed us as being completely and totally in the wrong and we felt she put a lot of unnecessary pressure on us. I have no idea why the vendor didn’t want to sign certain sections, or provide basic information on the property in straightforward, standardised forms - but Daniel Adams really did not help move things forward. Buying a first property should be an exciting and happy moment, but the day we picked up our keys was tense and awkward. The atmosphere in the office was awful - staff in general seemed disinterested and bored. I know a lot of estate agents will provide a welcome card or small welcome gift - no such service at Daniel Adams. When we got into the property on the first day, it was a mess. There was rubbish strewn around the kitchen. The property was filthy even though it had been lying empty for months. I didn’t expect much from our vendors but I was disappointed that Daniel Adams hadn’t even checked the property over before handing us the keys in their capacity as property management. We spent the first week cleaning up the dust and dirt that had accumulated. Now we are looking to sell and move, we actively avoid properties being sold by Daniel Adams. Knowing how poorly they manage the sales process, I wouldn’t trust them to sell our property either. They might be cheaper than some other estate agents in Coulsdon but the hassle just isn’t worth it. No doubt Neal or similar will reach out and comment under this review and ask me to get in touch - but I have zero interest in getting in touch to discuss my experience, especially in light of how aggressive he was. Daniel Adams staff knew they were treating us poorly but they didn’t care, so long as they got their commission. There are too many estate agents on the high street to risk it with this lot. For your own sake and your future buyers sake, please avoid. In response to the comment below: I didn’t publicly name individuals. I gave first names of representatives of the company in a public review and our experiences of dealing with them. I don’t think you need details of our specific sale to take onboard feedback regarding rudeness, aggression or unfair pressure on buyers.

Good afternoon, I am sorry you felt the service you received was not what you were expecting. Without knowing any further information to who you are or what you bought, it is impossible for us to comment. I understand from your review you don't want to discuss this any further, however we would like the opportunity to speak to you, or at least look into your case file. I do think if you are going to publicly name individuals, they should at least be allowed an opportunity to respond.
