Northwood went downhill fast after Neil, their best sales manager left the company. The company director and staffs are incomplete and arrogant. They do not help to collect rent, process check out or chasing arrears. They don’t even know tenants have moved out after months. Northwood has definitely become the worst estate agency we ever used.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Our leadership team has remained unchanged for many years now and our sales staff have never had any involvement in the operational management of property, which your concerns relate to. Unfortunately, there are times where we are unable to accede to every request and it is extremely disappointing when this is misconstrued as arrogance or incompetence. We do not always agree with our clients, this is only natural and an aspect of good, ethical management. There are occasions where requests are made which we simply cannot fulfil and when such requests involve deposits, which are held in a government backed scheme, with repayment processes which we cannot influence or change, regrettably, our hands are tied. Chasing arrears throughout the pandemic has been extremely challenging but something that we have worked tirelessly on with very positive outcomes. Our advice to work with your tenant in order to recover the arrears drove a significant reduction in the arrears balance. Given the circumstances and financial difficulties faced by so many tenants at present, the minimal arrears owed following the tenant's departure, which was covered entirely by the deposit held, is a positive outcome. One that many landlords would relish in the current climate. Regrettably, the delays in the deposit repayment process, which I understand is what has driven this unfortunate review, are entirely out of our control. Sadly, this is another consequence of the challenges that we face due to Covid. I would urge you to submit a formal complaint in order for your claims to be properly investigated. We take pride in the service that we offer and will respond favourably to any complaint that highlights a failing on our part, following a full, thorough, investigation. In the meantime, we will continue to work with you to conclude this matter.

Whilst I understand that you are not a direct client of Northwood MK Ltd and have no contractual relationship with the business, my colleagues have confirmed that your partner recently vacated one of our managed properties. They have also shared some photographs of the condition in which the property was left so I can only assume that your review is in relation to the retention of the deposit for a property. To clarify, this sum was retained to cover extensive damage / dilapidations and the costs incurred by the landlord will be significantly more than the deposit sum. This does not constitute theft! Your review will reassure landlords that we act in their best interests to ensure that deposits are managed appropriately. When damage is caused, we will recover deposit funds as required. As the deposit was protected in a deposit protection scheme, your partner would have had every opportunity to dispute the repayment. If the deposit sum was claimed without justification and evidence, the claim would have been rejected. That aside, we wish you all the best in your new home.

Utter disgrace of a company!!! I was employed by Wendy Levio to undertake a repair on a property in London. Wendy said the job was urgent so I said I could come straight away. I went to the property and when I got there she stated she could not get hold of the tent so would call me back to organise for me to come round another time. I rang her later that day at 15.00pm to confirm for me to come back round but she said she had got someone else. I waited i the area for the whole day because or this and did not get a penny. She then gave me a poor review on my website. The way they treat people is disgraceful do not ever buy or look at renting from theses people they would not give you the time of day if something went wrong.

I've had the most stressful experience with Northwood and quite shocked at their un-professionalism and high-handedness. I gave them my property to manage under their guaranteed rent but had to break the contract before it ended (unforeseen circumstances). They made the process so difficult both for me the landlord and the sub tenant. They'd out-rightly lie in the communications and make it seem like the sub-tenant was being difficult so they could get the most they could from me. Davinia Taylor in particular is so rude, inflexible and overall unpleasant. After we agreed on breaking the contract and I paid Northwood the full amount of their commission for a whole year - £1400 (pretty much getting paid to do nothing), they continued to draw out the process and wouldn't handover the property back claiming it was being cleaned. I basically gave them a brand new property and in just 3 months I got back a property with holes in the walls, writings, scratches, dirty etc (see pictures). There was no check out report as i had with other agents and no courtesy call about the things that were destroyed. In a nutshell, you want to stay away from this company as they provide a very bad service and are very disrespectful to their clients. They act like they are doing you a favor when in fact they get paid for every service they render. They obviously only care about the money and don't spend enough time on their relationships.

We let a property through Northwood for 4 years. Their fee was supposed to be 15% for an arrangement where they took on the property but guaranteed the rent. After several tenants for whom they increased the rent without informing us, I found out that they had fixed the nominal amount they paid to me but kept 40% of the rent themselves - even after I had challenged them on a rent increase which they told me was not affordable. They used a tradesperson who carried out work of a poor quality and over-charged for it, sometimes informing us retrospectively. Their caveat was always that they could not be held responsible for the work - something which I doubt a court would accept as Northwood were the agent!! When I gave them notice, they ignored it and placed another tenant delaying eventual handover for several months. On the day of the handover, they lost the keys. A sum of £125 held from a previous tenant for damage was not returned, their final excuse bing that I had been overpaid- a statement justified by calculating the pro-rata days they claimed they had paid me - despite the rent being measured per calendar month. They rarely paid on time and I'm just glad to be rid of them.

I am sorry you have felt the need to post this review as I sincerely believe we had resolved any issues between us to your satisfaction. I will not respond further nor list the inaccuracies in your review other than to clarify the fact that we do not charge a commission to Landlords on our Guaranteed rent scheme and as such I am at a loss to understand where the figure of 15% has come from. As always, we are very happy to respond directly to any further specific issues which you feel remain unresolved.

Could not have been a worse service. Utterly unprofessional, and repeatedly lied. They were dishonest enough that they had to reimburse all of their fees and my costs rather than face me in court (I'm happy to share copies of the paperwork with anyone who is interested). The platinum service is just them creaming off massive profits whilst doing next to nothing, and in our case allowing the house to be trashed and filled with rubbish whilst they marked the inspections as being fine. They then lied about the tenant having signed a new contract to try to force us to give a year's notice to leave them. We've earned £250/month more from the property and had it kept in perfect condition ever since we've left them. I would sincerely recommend avoiding them. Also, as a general rule of thumb, I would be very sceptical if a company feels the need to reply to critical reviews with insinuations of dishonesty towards their customers, as I can see below this review.
