Disappointed with how they handled my tenancy contract (throughout my stay but especially at the end). Lack of proper communication with the landlord as well as internally (i was moved to various agents that seemed unaware or uninterested). After 2 years of back-and-forth emails I gave up on being reimbursed or settle the tenancy fully. Under current management, I cannot recommend them for the future. I've been renting for over a decade across London and never encountered such disinterest in tenants.
I'm surprised I need to collect the key from the agent's office instead meet up at the new house. since all my friends received greeting from an agent at new house unfortunately not my case. I went to my new house the next day after collected the key. When I opened the door, there's a strong urine smell, since the previous vendor did not remove the dog and the pet's toilet rack and their used blanket, and there are 3 packs of rubbish bags with worms around in the house. there's also some unfinished drink right behind the room door, when I open the room door, soft drink liquid splashes everywhere. Anyway. I'm kind of disappointed with what I experienced on my completion date. I expect the property agent should have a responsibility to ensure the house pass to the new owner, should be in a clear and normal empty house but not messy. The reason why I turned up at 9am on the completion date because I communicated with your team 3-4 weeks ahead regarding the date for the survey booking and the time start from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Your team replied "no problem", that's why I proceed with the booking on surveyor service. When the date came, I email and call to confirm the date for the surveyor's visit, the agent said NO the day before at 6pm, and the surveyor team has booked a hotel in Kingston to get ready for tomorrow’s service. I strongly believe it's a communication problem.
Appointed as negotiators for Dorset Council against a few hoteliers promised 2 years previously, compensation for loss of income, (october 2019 to february 2020), Symonds and Sampson proved to be outside of their comfort zone. They took over 6 months to recommend an offer to Dorset Council, but then, Council may have contributed to those unnecessary delays. The financial turmoil caused by covid lockdown and these long delays caused some outrage among the affected hoteliers and it seems natural to blame the people conducting the negotiations for this. We understand fees charged to Council may possibly have exceeded the grand total of compensation payable to the 15 hoteliers and if true, that also would seem rather unfair. Strangely, Council also paid the negotiator acting for the hoteliers - but that's Council for you. I gather Symonds and Sampson are fairly good estate agents otherwise but compensation negotiations with Dorset Council may be a challenge too far.
From a rental perspective it was the worst experience we had in London after renting many properties throughout the city. Exorbitant starting fees (glad they won't be able to take advantage of people soon when the law changes), lack of communication and will try to charge ridiculous amounts for "damages" from your deposit; 50% of which we already notified them of via email when we first moved in that were missing from the check in report, but they'll try to charge you for regardless. Having said that, they did remove those costs when we pointed them out with attached proof. Took us 3 weeks of daily chasing to get our overpaid rent refunded. Lied to us daily saying "it's been processed, you'll receive payment today" only to never receive the funds for weeks. I appreciate it's not a priority but don't lie and give a realistic timeframe. They're quick to take your money but not so good when giving back what you're owed! Make sure to take tons of photos, the company they use for check in/ check out reports are not the best. Have to say that despite this, Melanie, who was the property manager, was great and always very responsive.
Dreadful communication , no returned calls inaccurate information and some staff that have limited knowledge of the sales process along with ineffective sales chasing causing delay and anxiety.Rose is keen and helpful.

Although the staff were polite and friendly, I had a very negative experience using this company when trying to purchase two grade 2 listed properties in northiam and bodiam. The owner of the northiam property would not confirm if the private drainage was compliant and we waited weeks and it cost us over £2000. The owner would not progress the sale when we offered an alternative way forward. I complained to the branch manager. He showed my complaint to other staff members but never replied to me. The property went straight back on the market even though the vendor would not sort out the drainage and the company completely disregarded my concerns. The next purchasers might fall into the same situation we did and the company do not want to take any responsibility regarding how this effects the buyers. The second property in bodiam was just coming on the market and was disclosed to us that a member of staff was related to the vendor. They assured as the sale could move quickly and if the drainage was not compliant the vendor would sort it out. We agreed to the full asking price and waited for the compliance to be confirmed. We waited another 2 weeks but still wasn't told if it was compliant and also if it was not we would need to pay towards it. The cottage is now back on the market at £20k more than the original price! What I experienced does not seem very professional. BEWARE of private drainage and false promises.
Update!: after my review the opa has added a response saying I was given a property pack so I just wanted to add some info. After reviewing the documents provided, I found references to the property being used as HMO Supported …
OPA have left a large sold sign up 2 years after sale that 'must not be removed'.I would no longer use or recommend OPA
They’ll sell you a hmo without the proper planning in place. Avoid at all costs
