I contacted this company for my nephew relocating to study in Huddersfield. Despite explaining he would not pass credit check he was still given a form to sign that implicated him. I was asked for 3 months payslip and proof of home ownership I gave this then another request came since I was listed as a director, I supplied and because this didn’t have the information of salary in the last financial year when I didn’t get paid, Emma concluded she was given wrong information by my nephew. The form he filled in requested salary has to be £9750, UK citizens & home owner. Payslip submitted was £22k and home owner documents. Emma was disgustingly rude and abrupt when I called on the 10/02 to explain the occupant is new and I’m in charge of payment. I previously explained this to William but it seems either it wasn’t communicated or Emma did not listen. The company has kept my £75 despite giving all information they require. You are providing a needed service if you can’t do your job then please quit

Would have given 0 stars if that was possible. Emma is the rudest most condescending and most judgemental person I have ever come across when dealing with a company and she could do with some training in customer service and how to speak to people. Came off the phone in tears after speaking with her and I will never darken the doors of Martin & Co again. Such a shame as the gentleman who showed us around the property we went to view was lovely and couldn't be more friendly and helpful.

We were very unhappy with our experiences of this outfit. We believe they totally mismanaged our property, loads of examples for instance writing to us to suggest we extend our tenants contract even though they were not paying their rent. We believe we were lied to on other occasions. Avoid this outfit.They even asked me to call them to check I had the right business!! Sort of proves my point really! I have their correspondence to us to prove it. Just give them a wide berth.NegativeProfessionalism

Firstly I agree with the reviews previously made by other customers. I actually feel for the owner who actually trusted Martin and co . I reported number of issues to the agent and nothing was done about. For over 6 months the velux windows were leaking . The door lock was temperamental , we were advised to put wd40 on it , luckily it’s a wet safe building so we used to leave it unlocked. This is an apartment in valley mills in elland. Do not rent from these cowboys and landlords they don’t care about your property. I’m regards to your response from the owner , no maintenance reviews were conducted we advised of the issues aswell , each time you booked an appointment no one showed up , only on the 17th of November 2021 where I cancelled the inspection due to previously of no one showing up or getting in contact with us to let us know that you are unable to make it. So I’m the two years of renting the property no inspections were doneNegativeQuality, Value

Having looked into your issues and photo's, it appears that they relate to building maintenance which is dealt with by the block managers. Pretend to be nice before you sign the contract and pay the money. Assure you they have corrected everything needed in the property but as soon as they got your money they don’t care about you anymore. Lee always advices you to use your money to correct everything and cancelled most of the things that needed fixing. Overall company is run by a clown. Expect an auto reply to this. Sorry my mistake. They start calling and Harassing you and how did you call me if I was hiding???NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Unfortunately this person is wrong in all aspects of this review and has a very immature view of the world. I have just called him to discuss his concerns to be met with a barrage of verbal abuse and name calling, very childish behaviour! This tenant was in arrears and was upset that his deposit was awarded to the landlord to pay for the arrears left on his account. During the tenancy a total of 22 maintenance jobs were completed for the tenant. To confirm, this is not an auto reply, but an honest account of a bad person with a bad attitude who will not even post reviews with his own name. Good luck to you Sir!

Whilst we always appreciate people taking the time to leave a review or helpful suggestions, we certainly do not appreciate comments such as yours. This individual was advised to use The Property Ombudsman Service, who agreed that Martin & Co did absolutely everything correctly, thus suggesting that the only ‘liar’ in this scenario is the person to leave this review. If the reader of this exchange were to know the entire series of events around your tenancy, I am sure they would not agree with your comments or rating. Serious thought should be given to the libellous nature of your slurs and whether they ought to remain in the public domain Sir. Thank you
