Our experience with Preston Baker was a very positive one. Most of our communications were with Jess fox in the Headingley office and she was brilliant throughout always responsive and punctual when we left messages for her to call. We also dealt with Mark later in the process and although we understood him to be new to the office and our house sale he was a very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. On the whole the staff in the Headingley office were a very happy, upbeat group to deal with

Dont be fooled by the sales pitch. I was promised an open day and I was sent a hungover young man who turned up late and hadn't ever been to my home or done his homework. Agents late, letting themselves in to show people round without letting me know when I'm at work and charge a fortune.
Dealt with a 'negotiator' called Charlotte. Awful experience and unprofessional. Be extremely careful and do not trust them if you are interested in a property.
Very disappointed. Called agents in regards to a property just become available to rent and they said they would hold other applications until after our viewing for fair evaluation by the landlord, as we were so in love with the property and viewings were fully booked for the week. A couple of hours before our viewing today (we had already filled out all the paperwork, saved the deposit and holding fee, spent time getting references, guarantors details etc) they called to say they had already let it. So, they promised something they didn't actually do. Quite upset with how we've been let down/treated. Also they had quite a snobbish attitude to me being a student despite having a perfectly adequate financial record, a job, and have been renting for over 3 years and never made a late a payment. Wouldn’t recommend for younger renters, clearly they have a 'reputation' to uphold. Message received.
We have had a terrible experience with Preston baker. We just moved to the Uk on business with my husbands company. We were promised the rental would be cleaned before we moved in. But of course it was a total disaster. Then within the first week we woke up to a leak coming from the kitchen ceiling and we notified Preston baker immediately and nothing happened. 8 weeks have gone by and it still isn’t fixed. We have called emailed with zero responses other than. “Oh yeah we are working on getting someone out there to look at that!” I even cried on the phone to our letting agent and she completely dismissed me. We have found several spots of mould in our babies room. We feel completely stuck and Preston baker has been awful. It’s really left a bad taste in our mouth about rentals in the Uk. Really poor service.
We put our house up for sale with a different estate agent and preston baker have been spamming us with mails trying to get the business. I have never spoken to the company and I feel they are harrasing me. Update: in response to your offer to remove me from your mailing list, I think it would be far better if you didn't sign people up to a mailing list without their permission. Update: since the original posting I have received 2 more spam mails from them. I wouldn't have complained if it was only one mail but it's more than 5+ mails now. Update: I have had more mails. FFS Update: And another mail. Update: more mail, it seems they don't care if they annoy people and waste paper. Update: yet another mail, clearly blanket mailing without regard for the people they upset nor the wasted paper. So it's 10 plus mails I have received, I have never spoken to these people. I wonder how many more people they are spamming ..... They dropped a flyer in the other day and I have a "no Flyer" sticker on the front door. They clearly just don't care about peoples wishes.
Wasted 9 months of our lives. Accepted an offer and it was handled so badly, the buyer refused to deal with them and I had to negotiate directly. They then changed their mind at the last minute because they didn't want to pay Preston Baker anything.
I have been let down by this company and ended up with tenants that not only don't pay the rent, but when it is paid it is below the level I was charging three years ago. They are prompt when it comes to charging me fees but not when it comes to chasing money that is owed me. They did not follow correct procedures when finding tenants so now my insurance is refusing to pay for solicitors fees to get the tenants out. the Tenancy agreement is not the correct one for the tenants they installed, as they allowed sub letting by a company which contradicts their own tenancy agreement. They signed everything on my behalf but now there are difficulties they are very difficult to pin down, and when i want an answer to a question they seem to pass the buck within their own departments. If you are a landlord and reading this, please don't use them, they are rubbish!
