The agent remained in contact from a viewing 18 months prior and, remembering we liked a certain road, contacted us as soon as a sale fell through. We were able to capitalise on the situation and despite a couple of nervous moments, have now exchanged and are looking forward to moving into our new home. I wouldn't hesitate in approaching Intercounty again
I was pleased with the overall service that I received from intercounty. A little slow to begin with, however, Doug Whybrow (the progresser) did an excellent job to kept the lines of communication open and kept things moving until exchange.
I have just completed a tenancy and found Joe to be very helpful and efficient. The other staff I spoke to were also very friendly .
Agent had good knowledge of the movements in the property market and gave sound advice on price for marketing the property
I was not too impressed. Communication in general was poor with Rebecca being part time and Tom - well some time. It appeared they were neither communicating much with each other (both have separate email accounts - not a joined company one) nor with me. All in it was a bit like wading through treacle, and that was after a fantastic start - the contract arrived in no time for the letting agreement (I did have high hopes). I ended up communicating more with the Bishops Stortford branch as they are more available. So in comparison - this left me disappointed and I may wait a few more years again until I am back - like my last time I used Intercounty. Sorry, but no recommendation. Too much hard work for me to keep asking and chasing and checking.
This review was done at the behest of Karl, just after he had secured in principle a sale of our property. I was in truth uncomfortable about writing anything until such time as I knew what he and his team may be like in actually following through on a verbal sale to full completion, but against my better judgement and thinking that if I gave a nice review he might well look after us I wrote the below. Some months later it has transpired that no such service has been forthcoming and the sale in question is now extremely circumspect. As such I retract the below statement. When tested over the duration, the team has not performed. Karl has been professional and polite at all times and ultimately delivered on his promises, which is rare in todays world. We have used Intercounty before and have always found them to be more sympathetic to the pressures and emotions of buyers and sellers alike, more so than other agencies and Karl has continued to build on this reputation.
I am very disappointed with the service I received from Intercounty. They were very dismissive and ignored my verbal and email requests for changes to dates after my circumstances changed. They sent me a tenancy agreement without feedback on my email requests on the terms and did not bother to return my calls on the property or give me move-in details. As a tenant, I would not recommend them. They just don't care and customer service is the last thing they are interested in.

After nearly a year, the words "we won't discount our % commision because we're worth the extra" still ring in my ears. The initial flirtation with Intercounty in January was excellent. They gave the highest valuation, they had "their own" conveyancing team to handle the admin, they had a specialist sales progressor to deal with me day to day and then we had an offer of the asking price within 4 days. After that it went downhill fast. We accepted the offer in early February, but struggled to communicate with the conveyancing company and the sales progessor was rude and abrupt both by email and on the phone. We were an unusual sale as we were emmigrating and the dates weren't fully fixed, but we kept Intercounty and the conveyancers fully informed all the way. We presumed they would inform our buyer and their solicitor. We confirmed our date of emmigration in June, at this point we still hadn't exchanged. Intercounty and the conveyancers took 3 weeks to inform our buyer of our leaving date. Eventually on the day of exchange, days before we emigrated, the conveyancers said they had lost our signed contract. We finally sold the property a month after we'd left the UK and the change in exchange rate between us leaving and getting the money from the sale meant we lost over 10k. I would obviously advise against using Intercounty and their conveyancing company.
I phoned this agency four times trying to arrange a viewing for a property in Saffron Walden the first three times they promised to phone me back and never did, the last time I requested to be put through to someone and I was put on hold and then the phone connected and I heard "yeah, she's on the line, just hang up on her" before the line went dead. Appallingly rude service, I can only imagine how they treat their tenants. The landlord of this property should also be very upset that of four approaches to view his property this agency has failed to arrange a single viewing.
