Read the small print - contract tied in for 6 months. Lots of cancelled appointments and I was doing the chasing. Diane was very agressive and cared more about my buyers than myself as the seller....was told to pay for the buyers gas and electric certificates, thankfully a tradesman told me this should be done by the buyer not the seller to which Diane said 'so you're not going to pay?'! Then threatend by Diane that I should break the chain and exchange on a day I was going on holiday so I did not loose the buyer - otherwise known as their commision. Great for them, as I did this, my things are now in storage for over 2 months, as rest of chain still not completed! AVOID - they just care about the commission not the seller.

Stay away from streets ahead and their agents specially Myles and Layla..... I would rate 0 stars for streets ahead as they made us go through hell - Please don't go anywhere near them at all. They will cheat you. We were supposed to move into a new rented apartment last Saturday -when we went there to collect the keys , the house was not in a position to move in and we did not see any representative from streets ahead - The person who came in was just a third party agent who had come to do the inventory checks. He had to write down almost 2 pages of things that needed to be changed/repaired and he agreed with us that the house is not in a position to move in. We went home disappointed and few mins later we got a call from streets ahead asking us to come to their office to talk about the contract. When we reached there, they made us aware that the house was on the sale market for the past 6 months and they want us to sign a new clause stating that we had to move out within 30 days if the house gets sold. This was informed to us on our move in date. Initially when we approached streets ahead , we had told their letting agent Myles that we are looking for a place to stay for the long term and when we viewed this property - he told us that staying long term won't be a problem. They were prompt in asking us to pay the deposits but on Saturday they informed us that the landlord hadn't signed the contract. Initially we thought we had no other choice but to sign the contract but luckily we didn't. We went ahead and asked for some expert advice and also we checked online in the sales market and the house was shown as already under offer. We understood that streets ahead had cheated us. We clearly declined to signing the contract and they told us that we won't be getting the house. Initially they were not ready to return our deposit but when we told that we would take legal action - they agreed to returning the full amount. They gave us lame excuses stating that their selling department didn't let them know that this house was on sale. We were clearly cheated here and we don't want anyone else to go through this trauma. I had asked multiple times about the contract to our letting progressor Layla and all she mentioned was that its a standard 1 year contract with a break clause after 6 months. We informed our current landlords to whom we had already given notice. Luckily hearing our situation, then agreed to extend our contract. Hence we have a place to live now. Streets ahead could have made us homeless. It was so easy for them to say that the house was on the sale market for the last 6 months and their letting dept did not know about this. When we went to view this flat , Myles had told us that staying there for the long term won't be a problem at all and look what happened and where we ended up. This is not the first time we are having a bad experience with them. We had looked for another property with them - out letting agent was Myles(same as the one for other property) who seemed genuine and initially he told us that the landlord had accepted our offer .Then after few days he came back stating that the landlord has backed out. That time also we had to tell our owners that we won't be moving out as the offer was declined. Myles wanted us to write a good feedback for him after we decided to go for the 2nd property which he showed us(the one mentioned above) which we did - but we have removed it now. We have had to go through so much trouble/stress because of these cheaters who don't know to keep up their word. They just know to take money from you - they don't care what happens after that. So Beware....

If it was possible to give less I would. An agent called me this morning to set up a list of viewings for the day, 4 in total. 2 of which no agent appeared to show the property. No courtesy calls, no one in their office knows who is supposed to be where. Complete time wasters. Not to mention their fees, £138 per tenant for referencing. Joke of a company, avoid at all costs.

Do not rent, buy or sell through this branch. From the first viewing we were meant to have, to then moving out, it has been a constant nightmare surrounded by incompetence. On what was meant to be our first viewing, they didn't have the keys to the property. This was less of an issue for us, who lived in Croydon and could visit again the day after, but we felt for the two elderly ladies who had travelled all the way from Bethnal Green and were then turned away. They then failed to put the conditions of the offer to our landlord. We asked for a floodlight to be installed outside for security reasons, and blinds to be installed. Both were simple requests, and both part of the formal, legal offer and yet the landlord was completely unaware. And then when we moved out they gave us a date to leave by, and which we had mentioned to our new landlord, only to then say this was only a potential date and again the landlord was unaware. They were happy to charge two sets of referencing fees and what not, but couldn't even be bothered to get two sets of keys cut! As for the agent herself (Lynsey), as soon as the contract was signed she wasn't bothered and stopped responding! Instead it was passed to some admin person, and even as a courtesy she had no interest. And the manager, George, was also incredibly rude. We had a simple question for the new tenants, but as we were old customers moving on he couldn't care less. We will at some point be complaining to their head office. Don't waste your time.

I left a review: By far the worst estate agents I've ever dealt with. The degree of unprofessionalism they display is horrific and I regret ever renting with them. My partner and I have been renting from the 1st of December and have had nothing but trouble from them. It's remarkable how, before I signed the lease, I was pestered with calls and repeated emails urging me to rent a property with Streets Ahead. As soon as we signed and handed over our deposit, we heard nothing more from them. We were constantly passed from person to person when we tried to enquire further with regards to our moving in. When we eventually received the keys to the property we discovered that the house was in an utterly disgusting state. It was evident that NOTHING had been cleaned. The toilet seat was completely broken, ELEVEN lightbulbs needed to be replaced. There were clumps of hair on the floor, congealed food glued to the fridge and unwanted junk (including a pair of dirty socks, thanks) that the previous tenants left. We immediately wrote a detailed letter outlining everything that was broken/required repair and requested that the house be cleaned to habitable standards as we were due to move in that weekend. We heard... nothing. The next day we tried to call the office three times. Each time we were told that our property manager - Kelly Alleyne - was on another call, but would return our call as soon as she was free. And we heard... nothing! We then went to the office the following day (in the middle of trying to move) to speak to the manager, Kunal Patel. He certainly made all the appropriate noises, claimed Kelly was off sick the day before (?!?!?!?!?) but she would respond to us the next week. No apology was made for the state of the property, no remuneration offered. I did indeed receive a message from Kelly as promised (I have come to learn, this is a miracle) assuring me she would call later. SPOILER ALERT. She did not call. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the picture. We have been emailing and calling for TWO MONTHS trying to sort out the most basic of amenities. It took six weeks to receive an inventory checklist which was promised to us the day we moved in. We eventually received compensation for the mess we found the property in, but all the repair work they promised would take place as not occurred. We currently have no lights in the bathroom or lounge and barely any light in the kitchen because we are waiting for repair work to be taken out by Streets Ahead. However, as Kelly as ignored the last six emails we have sent, I doubt this will happen. AVOID STREETS AHEAD AT ALL COSTS ** Helpful Hint ** If you are a current tenant renting through Streets Ahead, and have trouble with them, contact the landlord directly and make them aware of the situation. They're an appalling company who don't deserve any business.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL EXPERIENCE !!! Beware of these DODGY people - I was ROBBED AT THE PROPERTY I was renting due to their negligence to maintain it and replace the balcony door, which the burglar has used to break into the house !! After I told them I'm moving out, they've arranged a viewing behind my back, inviting 10 people who walked around and touched my stuff - I've had a hidden CCTV recording !! At last they have arranged a check out without letting me know over the Easter Bank Holiday while I was moving out, unable to be present at it !! Then they said they will charge me for the broken balcony door that they've previously promised to fix - WHAT A LAUGH !! I wish to all the people I've dealt with within this agency to rot in hell - hope that Karma gets you and turns your life into a sick nightmare as you deserve it; people like you shouldn't have a right to breathe.

Clearly don’t vet tenants very well. I’ve had to consecutive neighbours living next door to me that have been very noisy. The second lot have been noisy every night since moving in. They won’t even discuss the second lots with me despite sending them video evidence of what’s going on. There’s more to a good tenant the their ability to pay their rent. Streets ahead are a disgrace!

If I could give it a 0 star I would ! An absolute nightmare of an agency to deal with from a tenant perspective. Right from the beginning when I rented - issues , lack of contract in place literally until 2 days before moving in I didn’t know if I actually secured the place. Head of lettings didn’t even bother to let me know what is going on, it was me constantly chasing and trying to find out what is going. The real saga started however upon vacating property. Various agents arranging viewings of the property without prior arranging with me, random viewings at 8 pm without agreeing upon. To the point when the guy who was meant to do the check out never turned up and nobody bothered to inform me. The attitude of staff there is another story , it’s almost like they’re doing you a favour ! I was told to come to their offices to drop off the keys or send it via recorded delivery (on my expense!) after being stood up by their staff. Now I’m sure getting a deposit back will turn out to be another mayhem ! Please avoid them at all cost ! Not worth the stress ...

I am very disappointed in the services that was made with this estate agents. First of all when I moved into my property at wandle mill it was not up to standard. The paintwork was not up to standards, there was marks all over the walls and also the oven was filthy. it was not cleaned properly. I had to pay for painters to come In as well as a cleaning company. It didn't end here. when it came to moving out I had a 6 months contract which was fine. A month before my contract was due to end I spoke to one of the property consultance who informed me that if I moved out 1 month before my ending contract date I would receive a full months rent back as well as my deposit. I was more than happy with this as I had some where els to move into. I got the consultant to confirm this in email that I would receive a full months rent back if I moved out a month before the contract ending along as I was out on the correct date and handed they keys back. Which I did. I have now been moved out of the property for 2 months. I have only just received my deposit back which I should have got back instantly. As for the months rent I have not received back! They are trying to argue that I am not due this back even though I have it in email from one of the consultants Natalie. I have been contacting them on a daily basis and I am getting no where. The reason they are trying to argue this matter is because the new tenants who they had to move in didn't end up moving in so the flat was empty for a few weeks. This is not my fault and shouldn't effect the money I am due back but the people they have working at this estate agents don't seem to understand. I have spoke to myles, and George (branch manager) and both agreed I should receive my months rent back. On passing it on to the accounts department they are trying to stick to me not receiving the rent back. the communication is terrible between employees and I have been pushed from pillar to post. I was intending to purchase a property through streets ahead but will defiantly not be going anywhere near this agency.
