My partner and I are not happy with how Billie has handled our situation of applying for a property over the last couple of weeks, we have been emailing her and been getting no response from 4 emails now and every time we call she's not taking out calls, we were informed she was working over the weekend but didn't respond back? She tried calling us on Friday evening, both our phones rang for less than 30 seconds instead of waiting longer she decided to email us I feel like she could have tried calling a little longer. We are financially in a tough spot now because we have to be moved out of our property less than 1 week they've taken our deposit which my partner and I am saved up for, I have now called and been informed that the property we have paid a deposit on has been taken by another tenant, I've asked if we could have our deposit back due to our circumstances in writing, Billie didn't speak to ask but got another employee to deliver the answer which was no, in a way I guess this has helped us because we wouldn't want an agency that can't have compassion in these circumstances. I would like this complaint taken further or I would like to speak to a complaints manager. Responding to reply- Thank you the response, communication is so important And if Billie had taken time out of her day to contact me or take any of my few calls like you have done this outcome of this bad review would have been different regardless I'm not happy with the service we received.

Hello Selina, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m genuinely sorry to hear about your experience, and I’d like to provide some clarity. After reviewing your application, we received a negative reference from your current landlord, which indicated concerns regarding the maintenance of the property and damage to the carpets. Based on this information, our landlord made the decision not to proceed with your tenancy. We understand that you provided photographs and your inventory as requested, and we appreciate your cooperation. However, despite these efforts, the landlord remained firm in their decision. Once we received the final instruction from the landlord, we attempted to contact you and your partner via phone. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach you, and with the weekend approaching, we sent an email to ensure timely communication. Regarding the reservation fee, as per the application agreement you signed, this is non-refundable in the case of a negative reference. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or require additional clarification. We appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best moving forward.

Not a nice experience trying getting accomodation.Reservstion fee never refunded .Background check not done properly.

Hello Abideen, we are sorry to read this review! The referencing failed as you / your partner was in rent arrears at your current property at the time I am afraid. Due to this we were unable to proceed. The reservation fee is a none refundable which you were aware of, it was also stated in the application forms you both signed.

Read your contract with these people. Even if they give you a form to sign separately ensure that all agreements are in the contract. They are fraudulent

THIEFS We attempted to rent via movenow, They outsource their referencing to Rightmove and it was a farce from the word go. Asked to provide annual gross income, however our contracted hours and pay don’t align as we both do significant overtime. So why ask for gross pay? Resulted in us losing a property and they refused to return our £250 holding deposit. Rightmove refused to accept payslips as proof of earnings, so how can you ask for gross earning and then not accept a payslip that shows it? Refused to accept anything but bank statements and 12 months of them to take into account our overtime hours. Why would we go ahead with something we couldn’t afford? We rent a property for slightly less now and passed referencing no problem. They asked for 3 payslips per person to prove an average monthly gross. Simple. Thief’s.

Hello Samuel, Unfortunately, your referencing did not pass due to the nature of your zero-hour contract, which does not provide guaranteed income. Although we understand you are currently working full-time hours, this type of contract means hours and income could change at any time, which impacted the referencing outcome as your income is not guaranteed. As outlined in the initial forms you signed, the reservation fee is non-refundable if the reference does not pass due to the employment check. We wish you all the best in your property search.

Word of warning if you are thinking of buying through this estate agent then maybe think twice as they seem to allow multiple offers to be accepted on a house at the same time giving both buyers the run around to prove funds, only to be told our offer has been rejected for a lower offer as the seller has changed their mind. Further to that we have had two confirmation emails confirming our offer has been accepted including solicitors being instructed however that seems to mean nothing. If a property comes up with this agent again we will be thinking twice about using them.

Hello Steve I am sorry to read your review and very saddened to hear you feel this way As the office manager when you contacted me to book a second viewing we made you fully aware the vendor was reviewing an offer and we were just awaiting buyers proofs. As you requested a second viewing the vendor was happy to accommodate this. As a proud family run company we never have intentions of misleading any clients and are truely transparent with all the information given. Again I’m sorry your offer was not accepted on this occasion however we would delighted to assist you in the future should you wish to purchase another property from us. If you rent with them, they take forever to fix any issues in the house. Sometimes, over a year. If you finish renting, they ask you to do remedial work and at the end, they claim your entire deposit. Would not recommend

Hello Norris, we are sorry to read this review and how your tenancy ended. As discussed directly, upon the end of your tenancy, unfortunately the property was not returned in a satisfactory condition and we did try help you to receive your bond back by highlighting certain areas before you were due to hand the keys back.

Our experience with MoveNowProperties was extremely negative and we experienced the same bad attitude reported in the negative reviews you find on the web. We are expats and we relocated from Texas to the UK at the beginning of the lock-down. The modest house (3 rooms in a popular area of Horbury for 835GBP/month!) was structurally in very poor conditions and we found several sections covered in mould. Slugs (!!) were entering the kitchen overnight, I spare you the rest of the surprises that we found there!! OK, we were not in a position to be picky, we cleaned as soon as we found out the mess, and moved on. What was really disturbing was the Agency and the attitude of their employees: I was asked to pay 6 months in advance, because I am not a UK citizen, OK. When renewing for additional 6 months I was again asked to pay the whole 6 months in advance. I strongly disagreed: I provided bank references, letter of permanent employment (which I produced already in the first place, anyway....) and I had an immaculate record of payments both in UK and US. Another event that should make you think before going with MoveNowProperties: I was received with sarcasm when I asked to pay a reduced fee for missing the advance notice by 4 days! I explained that I was witheld in Italy due to COVID-related family issues and their answer was 'We still have to understand why you could not send us an email...'. James tried his best to deliver a professional service, but a single good guy can only do so much. Avoid these guys: you don't need them!

during convid-19 my tenancy came to an end in April. which I told them in March i no longer want to renew another 6 months as we have bought a house. because of the lockdown everything was on hold and stand still I contacted to see if I could extend till end of May. they agreed and it was made clear the keys would of been handed back end of May. however coming to claim back my deposit and said I owe another month's rent for June as I didn't give them a formal notice. I never signed no extra tenancy. majority of it was done on the phone when having the discussion now they have kept my deposit. absolute disgrace of a business especially at this time when people are in lock down all evidence was sent as a dispute and they've completed lied because the landlady wanted the money. move now never did there jobs properly.

A totally dishonest Agency that works against the very purpose (rent/sell) you hire them for. Please find a letting agency that will be honest, fair and act in your best interest - at least for the money you pay. FOR TENANTS - They exploit tenants and their rights by making them sign disproportionate contracts that favour landlords. They write false, inaccurate and misleading move-in details and you might not notice it until you check every line when moving in. Later, your money will be withheld for things you have nothing to do with. Have been charged for service that was not rendered and did not return the money back. Think twice before you use this agency. FOR LANDLORDS - They are not good to the Landlord either. They put all the liabilities on your head (costs, repairs, service fee etc.) while securing their fee at all cost (even at your loss). Also, they do not like landlords to get in touch with tenants for the fear that they will develop a cordial relationship (which is a bane to them). Though it is your property and you benefit from a cordial relationship with the tenant (and the house gets maintained well due to that good relationship|), they throw every trick in their book to prevent you from it. They also abandon you when there is a problem. ____________________________________________________________________ My RESPONSE for the "Response from the Owner"comment below. Oh - wow. What an accusation and lie pulled out of the clouds. If what you claim is even 1% true, could you please upload the evidence (court order for eviction) for all of us to see? This is exactly why you want to avoid this agency. They are hell bent to twist things, demonize you and lie - just to create the false positive image for the business. Well, landlords and tenants, save yourself trouble. Their true colours have been exposed.

worst company I have ever had to deal with. Dishonest, lie to you promise to call back and never do. So I had my heart set in a property on Monday last week I rang up to put a holding fee down the agents told me I couldn’t and that I had to view it first. I used to be a letting agent and I knew I could just put a holding fee down. I viewed the property on the Thursday and then again on Friday. I called them on Saturday to again put my holding fee down. They told me I couldn’t do this and to ring up on Monday! I rang Monday morning to be told someone would call me straight back an hour later they hadn’t so I called them. Only to be told the house has been let by someone else. I was fuming so I put a one start review on google this Monday I had taken the funds off my credit card to pay them £1500 and so now I had to pay all the money back on plus a charge. On Tuesday they called me up to ask me to remove my review. I later found out the property was available and they told me we do not want to let it to you. As a former lettings agent their telephone manner is disgusting their time keeping is horrendous and they tell you what you want to hear. Their agents don’t know anything about the properties they are showing or know nothing about the area. They don’t even look smart. And you trust your home with these people? They turned me down for a property because I left a review after they cost me money and then blamed it on the landlord of the property! As you can tell from their response they are not professional in anyway they treat and speak to you like rubbish and then act like the victim. Extremely unprofessional practice.

Here at movenowproperties we pride ourselves on providing the best tenants for our landlords After speaking with this applicant on several occasions we strongly recommend landlords not to let to this rude and ill mannered applicant, particularly since she threaten to come to the office and punch one of our staff members! Our landlord was provided with details of this applicant and chose not to rent to her. We continue to search for good suitable tenants to rent our properties
