Useless.
Such a terrible experience. I ended up losing £60 pounds as they do not refund the entire amount if your application is not successful. They take the payment first as if everything is sorted and then add a whole lot of requirements. I was provided with several additional requirements that were not in the initial application process. And when I mentioned this, they said that it was mentioned somewhere in the website. Unfortunately I couldn't satisfy the additional requirements which are so unrealistic and unfair. Not a favorable service for students at all. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Awful service, no understanding of how self employment works. Constant errors and glitches on the website. For people who are self employed or run there own business I wouldn't recommend.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! LEFT HOMELESS AND THEY LEGALLY TAKE ZERO LIABILITY IN ANY CASE! I want to start by stating that I have worked in customer service for many years, and I pride myself in leaving good reviews when deserved. I rarely write poor service complaints as I know how sometimes the customer is not always right. However, with homeppl, it looks like the customer is NEVER right. I recently complained privately to Homeppl, and Katie dealt with our situation. We had a complicated matter with my girlfriends right to rent proof. However with clear instructions from the government, I forward this info on to Katie and the advice was simply ignored. My girlfriend's situation was that she applied using a paper application for Pre Settled Status under the EU Settlement Scheme, and this meant that she was not able to access an online share code. Instead, Homeppl were responsible to doing using the landlords checking service manually. After a lot of back of forth, where Katie did not understand our situation, asking for VISA numbers and a whole range of unrelated documents. Katie eventually decided to delete our open reference application. It seemed she couldn't be bothered. We were left homeless for days, as of course the reference was not completed in time. In the end it was our letting agent who did as I advised, and overrode Homeppl's decision. This process is EXACTLY what this company is responsible for. With the serious neglect shown, I would never trust any letting agency again who uses Homeppl to provide their referencing. With any reference that requires a little manual work their side, they will leave you homeless. The best part of this shambles? We complained, and Katie kindly pointed out the following. 'As part of our Terms and Conditions agreed to at the time of setting up your account, we will not be liable to you for any damages whatsoever, including without limitation, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, and/or consequential damages, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or content.' They are very nicely protected behind their wall of terms and conditions, where essentially it states, no matter what they do, (or rather what they don't do) and no matter how they treat you, and whether or not they do their job, THEY ARE NEVER LIABLE. Handy that. Isn't it? DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They are protected and even if they screw you over, they will never take responsibility, even if it means you were left homeless. Please think carefully if you see a letting agent that uses this company. They pride themselves as being able to provide ANY reference in ANY situation. This was not true. A very sad start to my tenancy. Not even an apology.
I give one star because unfortunately, I can't give zero. Honestly, if the house you are trying to rent uses this company for the check verification, demand to use another. I've been completing a process with my two flatmates for a verification check and I couldn't have more problems than I had. They claim to accept incomes from different countries but when the rules of other countries are different (of course they are) they say that they can't accept the proofs. From the first moment, they say "you will have to pay in advance" without even trying to verify all the documents provided. After I was told that I bellowed the budget I made alone the calculation and I wasn't, of course, that in the end, the problem was the documents that I provide (downloaded directly from my bank). They claim to accept freelancer work but they don't accept income inconsistency (I guess that's almost the meaning of freelancer). Basically, my advice, run away from this company. I regret all the personal data that I've provided. Because of a lack of flexibility, terrible service and unprofessionalism, today, me and my flatmates are going to be homeless. Even though, we provided more than the budget asked.
Awful
Absolutely worst service. You pay them 370 for a guarantee then they’ll still decline your application ( even though I had all the sufficient information ) and then charge me a fee. Truly the most unprofessional service would 100% not recommend going through them. The employees are very rude also
