Was really disappointed. We purchased a house at Redgrove Avenue & was told it would be handed over after a deep cleaning. Unfortunately, the carpets are very dirty. The kitchen shelves are stained & dirty. The toilet is stained & very dirty. Paint stains on the borders of the wall. The fridge shelf is broken. Most of the walls have plenty of nails on it. Overall, really very disappointed after seeing the condition of the house & not at all happy on receiving our house keys. Hope, you do check once in everything before the keys are handed over to the buyer. Thank you, Preethi Thomas

Despite their number of great reviews about their estate agency side, I think their lettings side needs work. Sent an enquiry to view a rental property the day it came onto the market, filled out forms to view. I was told I would get a call to book in a viewing. I never did. Received an email almost 2 weeks later advising that the property has been let. Put me off sending any requests to view their other properties. Having worked in the lettings industry for the past 12 years, this isn’t how you treat prospective tenants.

Hi Sophia, I have reviewed the situation in detail and messaged you privately to confirm exactly what happened. Your timelines and explanation are not quite accurate but as mentioned in my message we did not reply to you quite as quickly as we would both have liked and for that I do apologise. Dee Quealy

I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Acorn. To move into the property, I was required to pay a total of £4,423.07, including a security deposit of £2,653.85. I vacated the property on 30 March 2026, leaving it in excellent condition and even cleaner than when it was handed over to me. As of 19 June 2026, almost three months after returning the keys, I am still waiting for the return of my deposit. I find it unacceptable that it has taken this long to recover such a significant amount of money, especially considering that I fulfilled all of my obligations as a tenant and left the property in very good condition. During my tenancy, I also experienced several serious issues with the property. For approximately one month, I was left without water because the pipework was not suitable for cold weather conditions and repeatedly burst, causing continuous water leaks. This created significant inconvenience and distress. In addition, the garden fence had completely collapsed. For months, I lived with no privacy at all because the garden appeared to be one shared space with the neighbouring property. This is not a situation I would have expected in a property for which I was paying £2,300 per month in rent. All of these issues were reported to the Eltham office, yet the overall experience remained extremely frustrating. I never intended to make these problems public, despite the many difficulties I experienced while living in the property. However, after almost three months of waiting for the return of my deposit, I feel compelled to share my experience so that other prospective tenants can make an informed decision. I sincerely hope this matter is resolved without further delay and that greater attention is given in the future to both property maintenance and the fair treatment of tenants. Outstanding deposit still awaiting return: £2,653.85.

Disappointing experience. Took time off work to attend a viewing, only to have the agent discuss a live offer with the seller in front of me during the appointment. It made for a really awkward and unprofessional situation. While they later acknowledged it could have been handled differently, they ultimately stood by their actions. Needless to say, I wouldn’t feel confident trusting them to handle a sale or purchase. Basic discretion during viewings shouldn’t be too much to expect.

I was extremely disappointed with the service I received and would not use this company again. I expected a company that was well established to provide an excellent service unfortunately this was not the case. My property sold with the first viewing, after it sold that was it job done as far as Oulsnams was concerned, I received no communication from them unless I rang them to find out how the sale was progressing, on one occasion I rang three times and no one returned my calls, after phoning the director I eventually received a call. They promised to call and update me, after telling me I wouldn't be moving on the day I actually moved. Nothing to tell me contracts had been signed and when I'd be moving, appalling thank goodness I had a brilliant solicitor. They really need to improve on the service they provide by keeping clients informed throughout the whole process in order to justify the large fee charged. Not impressed.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We completely understand how frustrating it can feel when communication isn’t as timely as expected. It’s worth noting that your sale was part of a chain, and unfortunately, we have to rely on information from third parties, including the purchaser’s solicitor, which can sometimes lead to delays or last-minute changes. Chains can be unpredictable, and despite our best efforts to keep everyone informed, we know there were moments where we fell short of your expectations. We always aim to provide clear guidance and support throughout the process, and your comments have certainly been taken on board. Thank you for your feedback and we wish you all the best.

Listed my property as a parking space when it was actually a house. Quealy never found this out themselves, it took another estate agent when looking for my property online to realise it wasn't listed. Wasted months of selling time at a time when rates were favorable. They talk the talk but when it comes to the walk, they were sorely lacking. EDIT: The response here is nonsense. 10 viewings over several months, all of which I assume are directly contacted by Quealy means nothing. The property was still listed incorrectly online, which means noone saw it. Also noone ever reached out to me as they said they would to talk about this further. Therefore they aren't genuinely interested in learning from their mistakes, but simply want to appear to care for the sake of other people reading the review. Put your hands up Quealy and admit you made a mistake, it looks better than this grubby desperation.

Dear Nick, I am looking into this and I take what you say seriously. I can see we had 10 viewing appointment requests so I am not quite sure the other agents description of the situation is entirely accurate. I will respond further privately. Dee Quealy
