Really poor website. Their main focus from the start is to gain more customers rather than make it easy to look at properties for sale. I was looking for a property that has a new sale board in the garden, which after 4 days is still neither on their website or on Rightmove.

Absolutely shocking company. I gave every piece of information they asked for and even more and that still wasn't good enough for them!! I lost out on a perfect house because of this company, I would strongly advise you use someone else. I work 2 jobs and my second job is part time at a new company. Bernadette spoke to my manager, who sent proof of me working there, I sent proof of payslips and bank statements and that still wasn't enough proof apparently. She claimed I was self employed and declined my application. No where did I tell her I was self employed nor did the company I work for. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Reply from Curchods Shepperton: Hi Charlotte, to ensure we can verify who has provided a reference, we are only able to accept references via business phone numbers or company email addresses that we can verify belong to your employer. We were able to verify your income for your first job, however unfortunately we were unable to accept the reference for your second job for this reason. We therefore requested a copy of bank statements and payslips to help us verify your income this way instead, however unfortunately your payslips did not contain all the information we needed. We also requested a copy of your P60 or personal tax summary which is required for employed applicants. This is different to a tax return which we would request from self-employed applicants, so please be assured we have assessed your application as employed.

Shocking customer service or shall I say non existent service to consumer. No updates on progress of tenancy application.... I was hounded with utility sales calls from them and when I told them I was going to sort it myself that’s when the main problem started. They have shared my details and given wrong move in date to Npower ( despite me stating that I will move my provider Octopus with me!) I rang Npower over and over and still am getting contact from them. Ive asked UKtenantdata to rectify moving date issue with Npower and 3 weeks later still got no response. Today I’ve received council tax bill asking to pay the tax when I wasn’t here. As UKtenantdata have provided the date incorrectly to council as well I am now having to pay tax for extra 3 weeks when I was at old address. I am now having to rectify the error UKtenantdata made. Reply from Curchods Shepperton: Hello Agnieszka, We are sorry to hear about your experience. We have looked into your case and unfortunately the issue was indeed due to an incorrect tenancy start date confirmed by your letting agent. Our utilities partner contacted the council, water company and current energy supplier (Npower) to inform them that you are a new tenant based on the start date supplied by the letting agent. This is something they are contracted to do by your letting agent, however they didn’t set up any new accounts for you as you declined assistance with your energy. Npower would have been in touch to request that you set up an account with them as they were the current supplier, but this is likely to have been before Octopus were able to initiate the switch to them as your chosen supplier as it can take a few weeks to transfer. As soon as you notified us that we had been given an incorrect date, we immediately sent a revised move-in date to the council and utilities suppliers, but it can take a few days for them to acknowledge and apply the changes. We apologise for any confusion and have contacted your letting agent to remind them that tenancy start dates must be correct to prevent this from happening in the future.

Probably the worst referencing agency I've come across. They don't consider addition income comes from being self employed even when you provide payslips, just because you control how you work. They you make fail. Very poor communication …

Reply from Curchods Shepperton: Hello, we can consider self-employment as a source of additional income, however we need to be able to see continuous income. If it is sporadic or there are large periods where no income has been received from this source, we cannot include … More

All of the information they require is absolutely ridiculous. I have done referencing before and never had to provide what they require. And they take so long to do anything with the information you give them. You call and call and they …

Awful company. Co-tenant passed without being asked to prove any form of income nor landlord references, however failed my referencing checks on affordability despite offering to provide proof of income via bank statements ( LTD company director ) despite earning 3x the amount of the co tenant and also having provided landlord references and also a home owner.. then questioned guarantors proof of income despite the accountant an end of year summary directly! *******UPDATE******* The response below states they cannot differentiate between payments from customers and profit, the business is a LTD and completely separate from the personal accounts which would show the payments from the company I.e salary/dividends. Also, regards to unable to verify the guarantors accountants - the email had been send directly from the accountants along with a photo of the accountants office! They stated they contacted the co tenants accountants which they did not more lies. Owning a letting agency myself and multiple property companies I would strongly recommend avoiding UK tenant Data.

Reply from Curchods Shepperton: Hi Daniel, your co-tenant provided details of their accountant who was able to confirm their income to us. Your co-tenant also declared they were not renting previously so we didn’t need to request any additional information from them. We couldn’t accept your bank statements alone because although it may show payments from customers, we are unable to confirm how much you retain as profit after expenses. We need to confirm this as your profit is the income we would consider to be available to pay rent. We would need either an accountant reference or a submitted tax return instead, both of which unfortunately you were unable to provide. Your guarantor provided their accountant details, however we were unable to verify their accountant’s details and they did not provide us with an official HMRC document so we were unable to accept this reference. We therefore asked your guarantor for a copy of their tax return instead which they provided and enabled us to confirm their income.

I can't get my head around the stuff they flag- my employment refrance came back invalid because my employer "lives overseas" she doesn't - she's Lithuania and the only thing that would indicate that on the reference would be her name and …

Reply from Curchods Shepperton: Hi Selsa, we wouldn't reject a reference due to an employer living overseas however we do need to be able to independently verify the company's details e.g. whether they are a registered company. If we are unable to verify the company we … More
