I’ve recently completed a sale using Richard James having had a valuation done with two other estate agents as well. Communication was very good at the beginning from Josh and I decided to go with them to market my property. The showing agents we dealt with were all helpful and friendly so no issues there. Upon going live, it was fairly slow going which I understand with covid 19 around, was to be expected. A couple of viewings were booked with a couple not showing up however I wasn’t made aware of this until the following day which is policy I’m told but would have been appreciated having been ready around the corner to return home. Two sets of keys were lost throughout the process which frustrated me as these were not labelled up properly, this resulted in my buyer turning up for her first viewing and not being able to get in as they had the wrong keys with them and chose not to ring me to come around and let them in. Fortunately she did return the next day and since bought the property so in the end, no harm done. During the after sale process, I dealt with Jo. She proved to be very helpful indeed with progressing the conveyancing process and sluggishly slow solicitors from the buyers side so I thank her for that. I doubt exchange of contracts would have been achieved at the point it did without Jo’s chasing up and persistence. Overall, I’d certainly recommend Richard James to anyone but they do need to iron out the key situation to make things more stress free for me as a customer.

The team started off very strong – great communication, engaged, and supportive when we re-listed our house with them. The chain was long and slow, and after several months we made them aware we were starting to look at other properties due to the unpredictable chain. Although communication dropped after we withdrew from a purchase with them due to a change in circumstances, we were still selling our place with them. I later found out that our buyers had been looking elsewhere (after we said we would leave the very long chain) – something the agents hadn’t shared with us, which was disappointing as we had been open with them. At the same time, they were noticeably unhappy when we made an offer on another property (likely commission-related), even though they knew we were looking. Overall, they are professional and capable agents, but our experience did change over time. I’d still recommend them, though it’s worth comparing with other agents too.

Lots of effort put in but I had to email to confirm after to a few days on not hearing from them that they were not successful on finding funding

Some communication based issues which were resolved promptly by the manager. The number of stars relates more to my frustration about not securing a property than it does the service - as am not a customer therefore not experienced their services. Hope they are proactive if other flats in the areas of interest we noted come up.
