Tenancy ended the start of May and I am still awaiting to receive my deposit back (5th June), the deposit was agreed 2 weeks ago. I was told that my deposit was held with a scheme called my deposits, after numerous calls it was found that my deposit was held with a completely different scheme called TDS. After being told that Belvoir were awaiting for the landlord to pay my deposit to me for near enough 2 weeks, I called the trade scheme and it transpired that Belvoir held the deposit. After numerous calls, I have been told it should be in my account my monday but who knows. Luckily I am moving back home and do not need the deposit for another property! The agency were good throughout the tenancy but this dampened my view of Belvoir completely.

I am previous customer. On 2019 January I have changed the letting agency and it was a good choice. I am very disappointed hour agency is working with their customers. Have paid every bill and still agency was looking for trouble all the time. Furthermore, when have needed to change the fridge (because it was old and broken) agency ignored me for a month which is not acceptable in my opinion. Paying such a big fees agency should sort all the troubles straight away. Also, agency raised a price for a rent in the middle of the contract without letting me know about it. We have left clean property and nice property, but agency still took some money from deposit saying that something was wrong. Even then what was left in deposit had to come to my bank account, but it was late for month and a half. everything would just bad, but having no respect, talking with aggression and laying to a customer makes terrible, terrible memories. My only advice would be, to avoid this agency and do not have any business with them.

Not paying back deposit, charges are not fair, at market price everything can be done 5 times cheaper

Booked a viewing for a property. Had a phone call on the morning of the viewing to confirm that I still wanted to see the property I said yes. I went to the property at the confirmed time and no one was there. I rang them to be told that their colleague said that I was no longer interested in viewing the property and I had to explain that wasn’t the case and hadn’t been said and I still wanted to view it. The lady on the phone said she would speak to her colleague and put the phone down without saying bye. The viewing was rearranged for an hour later which was handy as I travelled a long way for it. I turned up to the viewing the second time for the lady to not even have the key. Totally unprofessional and in my opinion unbothered. She did offer to go and get the key from the office and be back in 10-20 minutes but I was viewing other properties and the lack of organisation and care made me uninterested to deal with the agency.

My landlord switched from the old agency to this stupid one, and when I moved to a new address, they gave me half of the deposit, without any proofs or something. They charged me 100£ for rear garden cleaning (the work that was needed would have taken about 10 min grass scissors cut!), but instead the landlor build a fence on my money! Belvoir except being polite, they can't be trusted. They were asking me to offer them pictures of how the house was before, which is annoying. Doesn't look like a professional agency, but more like thiefs. I left the house in very good shape, but there was some cleaning needed at the window rubbers, so they charged me 150£ for that!!!! They didn't even knew how the house looked when I moved in 4 years ago. So DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!

Please do not fall into the trap of using these bunch of charlatans. Save your money and mental health go elsewhere. The maintenance company has links to the agency hence high pressure tactics to use them.

If I could put 1 star I would. Worst company I’ve ever had to use for anything in my life. They’re rude, ignorant, useless and plain greedy. Anyone thinking of buying, selling, letting or renting through them, seriously, DONT DO IT.

Hello Caitlin, I am sorry you’ve scored us 1* and that you feel our fees are too high. As you may know, it’s a legal requirement for agents to display their fees in branch and on their website. This is for consumer protection. As this information is so freely available, we take the time to review the prices of agents locally. I’m proud to say that our prices are either very similar, if not cheaper than many of our competitor agents. I would beware agents with lower than normal fees, as you may find that they have a compulsory renewal process and that could cost you in excess of £100 every 6 months. Also, some reference release fees can be as high as £50! For particular properties (with us) there may also be administration fee discounts so if you find a property you’re interested in it’s always worth asking one of the team who would be more than happy to assist. Belvoir is worst agency ever: - they haven't helped me in case of emergency - a wheel from my cycle was stole because they haven't arranged repairing of main gate(it should be locked) - it took 3 months to repair washing machine - they don't manage the building properly so you may here fire alarm(when battery get uncharged) for a weeks - their maintenance portal doesn't work at all - they don't help you in any way with suppliers and insurances - they can don't respond you for a week
