After around 4 and a half months since offers were accepted I finally moved into my new property just before Christmas, which would not have happened if it was not for Charlotte at Ferndown! At first, everything was very slow and there were a lot of issues that were getting very hard to deal with, with numerous problems that never seemed to get resolved... but Charlotte joined onto our case around half way through and this was when things started to get pushed through much faster! Charlotte ALWAYS kept us up to date, was always on our side and continually pushed through our sale, which other parties definitely did not do. Charlotte was always on hand to help, and without her pushing as much as she did, I do not think we would have been in our new house before Christmas! I would recommend Charlotte to anyone moving house, she is very understanding and supportive, and is always great to have a chat with! Will definitely miss chatting to Charlotte on a daily basis! 100% recommend!
We have used Ferndown for our rental property and recently to sell our property. Ian and Thelma have been a great help and they were the only constant during this time. I’d like to say we had a great experience from the whole team but sadly not. Thank you Ian for your help securing the sale.

I viewed this property around February 2025 - Elmstead avenue and made an offer the same day. The agent, Mlak, said he would call me back to confirm whether my offer had been accepted. When I called later that evening, I was told I needed to secure a mortgage, which I arranged that same evening as I was keen to proceed. Mlak had told me my offer was accepted. The next day, when I contacted the office, Mlak told me that the acceptance he had discussed with me was a mistake and was meant for someone else. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I then asked to speak to a manager. During that conversation, I was told that if I offered over £200,000, the property would be mine. However, the house was later sold for £190,000, which is significantly less. The whole process felt confusing, inconsistent, and lacking transparency. I was given mixed messages and encouraged to act quickly, only for the property to be sold under the figure I was told was required. Overall, I found the experience very underhand and would be cautious about dealing with this agency.
Extremely disappointed with Ferndown Estates. Over the past 4 weeks I’ve been promised a call back from the owner, Ian, a total of five times — and not once has he actually called. It’s clear that after raising ongoing issues with my house, there’s no real interest in resolving them or even offering basic customer service. They hired a unqualified drunk to install my new boiler that took over 3 years to get upgraded after paying £300PCM in gas bills (now £148 for gas and electric combined - yet no compensation or apology has been acknowledged) the drunk contractor flooded my property and ruined mu carpets and walls. FERNDOWN OFFERED ME DEHUMIDIFIERS 7 months later. I’m still chasing the painting and carpets to this day 12 months on (SHOCK) … of course they are increasing my rent though - only time they bother to contact you. Unless of course they say they need to come to your home to “discuss your tenancy” in an attempt to intimidate you off the back of being rude due to all of this negligence. Chasing repeatedly, being ignored, and having concerns dismissed is not what you expect from a professional estate agent. Communication is one of the simplest aspects of customer care, yet even that seems too much for them. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Ferndown Estates at all.
I would avoid as both a buyer and seller. We started our search for a property with Ferndown and had an offer accepted on a property, which was £7500 more than the property was put on the market for. They market properties low and expect people to put in their top/highest bid. The offer was accepted and we were given a week to have our solicitor and everything in place. To secure this we paid an initial fee with the solicitor for the property to be then withdrawn from the market. We continued our search with Ferndown and both Mlak and Charlotte were extremely helpful and assisted us in finding a property. Again we were asked to put our best and final bid in which we did and the offer was accepted by the seller. When our mortgage company came to value the house it was then devalued a substantial amount so we paid for a separate valuation which also devalued the property. The property clearly was not worth the offer we put in as two different companies visited the property and valued it between 30-15k less than the offer and we were not prepared to be in negative equity so attempted to negotiate the price based on the valuation. This was not met kindly and we were made to feel as though the change in offer was based on our financial situation rather than the expertise of the property surveyors so less than 2 weeks before completion and heavily pregnant the seller pulled out of the sale on the advice of Ferndown estates leaving us with nowhere to live and back at square one. Thankfully we found a property with another local agent and the service we received from them and our mortgage advisor was great. A few months later Ferndown reached out to us to see if we would send them the information from the valuation reports which we politely declined to provide them with.
