I faced problems at every step of the way as my agent went on a vacation on the week I was supposed to move into my new place. My agent didn't even inform me about her vacation which led to a lot of miscommunication, further, she didn't even inform her colleagues about my case which ultimately forced me to stay in a hotel for a week before I could get my keys. Furthermore, at the time of leaving the place, I was charged £90 for the alleged cleaning of the kitchen hob, oven, and bathtub boundary for which I never got a bill but had to pay as I wanted my deposit back (which anyway took 2 weeks).NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Our Senior Lettings Negotiator Dayna Green dealt with your application for tenancy. Dayna was on a weeks annual leave in the last week of August. This was the same period of time that your referencing process was being dealt with by the referencing company 'Vouch'. You may recall that your Guarantor only completed their application on the 25th August which delayed the process slightly for you. You were informed by my office that an Electrician had to attend the apartment to ensure that the EICR - Electrical Safety Installation was Satisfactory for your safety. On the 01st September Dayna contacted you to advise that all your references had been checked and approved for you to take up tenancy at the property. You advised her that you would be available on Thursday 03rd September 2020 to sign the AST Agreement and collect the keys. When you signed the AST Agreement for your tenancy you also received an Inventory on the condition of the property. You received the apartment in a good clean condition and therefore, we expect is to receive it back in the same condition. At the Check Out it was pointed out to you that the property was not in a clean state and you were advised of the cost to have it cleaned, which was agreed on an email to my office. Its up to either party to initiate the refund of deposit from the DPS - (Deposit Protection Service) therefore if you had contacted the DPS they would have sent you your deposit money back quicker. While they might be fine to buy from, DO NOT rent from them. Dreadful service and just out to gauge tenants out with every additional charge they can. If you are a reputable landlord go elsewhere.

I've had to change my review to 1 star because although I successfully sold my property 6 months ago, I've just come to understand that Martin & Co did not pass on any of the property documentation to the buyer's. With the keys I included a bundle of important documents including boiler service history, instructions on how to set up the smart thermostat and guarantees and warranties. I think it is completely inexcusable that this information has been lost or has been left lying around their offices when the address of the property must be all over it. I'll not update my review again unless someone informs me that the missing paperwork has been united with the buyers.

Just been to view a flat I was very excited to see as location perfect for my elderly father. Was met by the rudest most flippant girl I have ever been unfortunate enough to come across. We arrived 5 minutes early to be told I have been calling and calling you and that it was a good job she had turned up. The flat had mould on the lounge windows and tiles in the bathroom. The oven was filthy as was the fridge. Pointed all this out and received a smug reply of the condition of it is reflected in the price whilst the whole 10 minutes we were there she was looking at her watch. I had 6 months rent and a months deposit ready to pay but sadly the agents I really can't be bothered attitude lost them our custom.

Do not use there letting service they will try everything to keep hold of your deposit I'm out of pocket by £307. We were asked to vacate the property we had rented without issue for 3 years and when we did so they charged us £132 for checking out fees!!!! Then charged us £55 for an oven clean that was not needed (and owner said they would not charge) and then £120 for a garden cut in November!!! And to add salt to the wound none of this work has been carried out as the house was sold!! Legal paperwork is on route to the owner and will be seeking compensation from Martin and co prestwich. If you are going to use them please make sure you get a solicitor to double check all the paperwork before you sign.
