It is hard to describe how terrible Connells were as a letting agent. Months of delays getting repairs carried out, related to heating so should have been treated as urgent. Fault reports and emails were ignored, constantly chasing for things to be done, staff denied knowing anything about the problems, delays ordering parts, parts sent to the wrong office etc etc. They really did not seem to care at all. The plumber who came to our property numerous times was hopeless, eventually an engineer was called to service the boiler which didn't need doing, finally an engineer from the boiler company was called, fixed the fault but said the boiler hadn’t been installed properly so they wouldn’t continue to work on it. After 8 months of a cold house, sleepless nights, stress and hassle we decided to move out, they offered compensation but had to chase them for that too, ignored and conveniently denied receiving emails again. Now in a really nice place with a great company who understand the concept of customer service, something Connells really don’t have a clue about. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Shame that you cant actually give 0 stars. I was a prospective Tenant of this Estate Agents. Very quick to take your deposit but no intention to give it back. Watch out people, do not rush to pay them any Deposits. You will not get it back even if the landlord will change the terms previously agreed. In our case, landlord advertised the house with storage in the garden via Right move. When we put in an offer and the agent took our holding deposit, he then apparently changed his mind and said that the shed is not included in the let . I think the agent knew about it and mislead us on purpose, to create this situation. I am still waiting for my refund. And my solicitor will be in touch with them. There is other lettings agents avoid for your own good.
