We had the worst renting experience in the UK. Chancellors agency lied to us for getting a few stuff done in the flat before signing the contract, they never discussed those things with the landlord, we signed the contract and moved in and the flat was not professionally cleaned and not freshly painted as stated in the contract. They didn’t care about these problems saying it’s landlord fault and letting us to deal with the problem. On top of it at the beginning of the conflict they seemed to take our part asking the landlord to respect the contract but after a phone call between the landlord and manager Riley Drake-Smith they changed their mind and jump on the landlord side (who breached the contract) advising us if we don’t reach an agreement with the landlord to search for a new property. So because of the agency and their dishonest actions, in full pandemic, before Christmas, we had to search for a flat and move again, even though we’ve just moved to that property. So they didn’t care about us one second and they think it’s a normal thing to move house every month just because of their poor services, lies, unprofessional and dishonest behaviour. I would not recommend to anyone this agency. The whole experience was a nightmare.

Waiting over a week for a viewing when I am a cash buyer is unacceptable. So is insisting on a BAFO on one house today and not enabling me to view the possible alternate. Staff have little or zero knowledge of the house you are viewing. All In All very very frustrating !!

Your company overcharged me. The outstanding amount was £91.20 but I calculated as £61.18 so the difference is approximately £30. It's not the amount that I'm concerned with, but how you deal with your customers. It's not right that you agree a fee with me then go back on your word! You didn't reply to my email and sent another invoice demanding £91.20 without disputing my calculation which was agreed with your letting management! Not replying to my calculation and then threatening me with legal action is absolutely disgraceful, so this review is justified.

Gutted!!!! Was looking for a place in Bicester. Sent out hundreds of emails and made thousands of phone calls. “Yeah I will ring you back tomorrow.” “I will send you an email today.” Waited forever and received nothing. I called a couple of days later and they were like who are you? Have we met? OMGGG! It’s 8 weeks and wasted my time!!!

Treat landlords and tenants equally.. My friend has been waiting on his deposit return for a month. Absolute horror show of a business

This company seem to think they operate by different standards than other estate and letting agents. Had a bad experience when purchasing our home through them as they would not take our house off of the market until the moment we exchanged. And now trying to rent a property through them, they delayed getting back to me for so long the house I was interested in has been let and they wouldn't consider me anyway as I am reliant on my ex husband to pay the rent as I am a stay at home mum with 2 small kids despite other companies being happy with him as a guarantor. Would never deal with this company again.

I placed an offer on a property in Amersham which I believe has not been taken to the client. I have subsequently phoned on more than 6 occasions over a two week period for an update only to be told (on the occasion a person in branch answers the phone) that they don't know what's happened, they need to look into it and will get back to me. So far no one from Chancellors has contacted me. Sadly I would not recommend using this company at this moment in time.

They will send you a generic reply soon to this comment, with an email to contact. Then when you email that address, they won't reply. Best thing to do is to steer clear of chancellors.
