I went to Martin and Co to find me a lodger for my room. Although they found me a good lodger the process has been awful. The lodger moved in yesterday and I'm still waiting for the rest of his payment to be transfered to me. I have emailed and phoned the office so many times only to be pushed from this person to person. I have spoken to Phillip the director who is currently on a boat and does not care now as I have paid my invoice for the service they have provided . Today they have informed me that they policy won't allow them to make the payment to me. I think its shocking considering this is the first time I have used them. They advised me to get my lodger to make the payment to me directly even though he has already paid them and then they will refund him how is that fair. All they have done is come up with excuses as to why they can't make payment. I will be taking this further. There is no policy on this earth that says you hold on to a clients money that's been paid to you in error. I am so disappointed in this company. I have spoken to around 4 different people in the grantham office and still I'm waiting. I even texted Phillip the director who apparently is the only one that can make payment. I have paid £354 for a half done service. All I want is this resolved and the remainder of the money transfered to me. They owe me £200 If you want a good service be it a tenant or a landlord go somewhere else. They don't respond to emails or when they say they will call you back they don't. You would assume they would want to build a good relationship for future business but apparently not.

If 0 star was an option that’s what I’d do. When I first viewed my property they made me wait over a month to move in because they were ‘deep cleaning’ and ‘redecorating’. When I rang them they hadn’t done any of this, I was waiting a whole month for no reason, for them to ask me if I wanted it cleaning and decorating, I ended up saying no because I was sick to absolute death of waiting to move in after paying almost £900 deposit and first month rent. And now that I’ve moved out and been told I’m entitled to get every penny of my deposit back, they’re ignoring me, I’ve emailed them SIX times in the last 3 days waiting to hear back from them, if I don’t hear from them soon I’ll be thinking of other actions I can take to make them actually respond to me. If that’s court then so be it, I will not be losing this property that I’m planning on moving into because Martin and Co can’t be arsed to reply to their customers. If I still don’t receive my deposit in the next week then I’ll be naming specific people who have made my life miserable by lying and keeping me waiting and stealing.

Sent a credit control reminder for an invoice that had never been sent to me and when I queried it never received a full reply or an apology, but never chased again. Reported issues to them, but was far quicker ringing my landlord directly as they simply sent an email to the landlord and didn't appear to chase until I chased. If you are looking for an agent to manage your rental property keep looking. If you are looking to rent be warned as if you ever have reason to speak to the director he will try and belittle you. So we are clear my rent was always paid on time and I remain on good terms with my landlord and purchased the property from them. Awful agency and staff! Moved our key collection appointment twice, second time even without asking if it’s fine with us. Wasted time, holiday and money because of them!! Rude and unprofessional staff. They moved the first appointment so they could have more time to take pictures and clean the property, and on the day we’re supposed to collect keys, they still don’t know what time we can pick them up and tell us the property is still not ready! Wish I read all these reviews prior to choosing this agency. Absolutely do not recommend them. Would of gave them 0 star if there was an option.

Very unprofessional and incompetent company. They have rebooked the appointment for pick up of our keys on 2 separate occasions. The second time round they have emailed us on Saturday morning notifying us that the early Monday morning appointment is now being moved to a late afternoon. As a result of this I've lost 2 days of holiday and money that was paid to a man with a van. When I rang the branch the manager offered absolutely no help.
