Jackson-Stops Dorking were the sole selling agents for my house in the village of Holmbury St Mary. They produced good photographs and property details and arranged a few viewings and two serious (but low) offers. However, the people that actually purchased my house were ex-villagers and known to me personnally who, sadly, were registered with Jackson-Stops when they saw my house advertised therefore resulting in my liability for fees. The sale ended up being long and drawn out (9 months+) because we had delay after delay with the (finally aborted) house purchase we intended. In the end, when our purchase fell through, I myself negotiated with my buyers not to put my house back on the market at a substantially higher price and agreed an increased offer to allow us to go into rented accommodation and managed to complete so that they achieved the reduced stamp duty deadline. Annoyingly, Jackson-Stops still charged me full fees on the difference in sale price. Having said that, they were friendly and helpful (if a bit negative sometimes) and the sale was handled professionally and effectively given the circumstances. In general, I would recommend Jackson-Stops to prospective vendors and thank Nicki, Lucy and David for their ongoing assistance during the process.
