Fantastic start to the sale of our property. Valuation and advice were spot on. SE are well placed to deliver a great service, so I was disappointed with the lack of communication and awareness of the buyers activity which led to a very protracted sale and sadly, no communication since, not even a congrats or thankyou for the 5,849 thank yous I sent their way. I could put a property on Rightmove and show people around, but the real value is in sales progression which unfortunately was poor and regular updates were severely lacking, unless chased. Everything else was great. Thanks for the bits that you did do without being chased, but that didn't represent value for money. You have great stats, but given that this is represented as a positive sale, it doesn't tell the whole story. To be better than purple bricks is hardly an accolade to rest on and you could do a lot better.
Sparks Ellison have a good reputation locally as reflected in their market share. There is no doubt the front end of the business i.e. actually bringing the property to market and getting the sale is a slick operation . Unfortunately post sale things become less slick. It may be a result of their large market share and therefore workload for the back office staff, but communication becomes sporadic to say the least. We found we got more information from other estate agents in the chain than the one we were paying. There does not seem to be a schedule in place to keep clients informed . My advice would be on choosing an estate agent would be to look beyond the initial sale.
Sells properties that are already reserved for "friends".
Dint even bothered to reply . And on 1 occasion they said property viewings r not yet started n will contact u but after avweek so that house is already shown as let agreed n i was not even informed either way
I’ve never been made to feel more like a second class citizen than I have been by Debbie Darvill, lettings DIRECTOR at Sparks Ellison. First she tried to tell me that on both properties I wanted to look at, the landlords’ mortgage lender prohibited tenants with Universal credit.. (which mortgage lenders have been banned from doing for at least the last 5 years and any mortgages longer than that would have been automatically changed). Surely being a Director of lettings with years and years of experience, she would know that. I challenged this piece of information, only to then be told… “It’s these particular landlords prerogative to immediately discount people with benefits”!!!! Yes, landlords can chose their tenants, but it is against the law to immediately discount someone based on being in receipt of benefits. Again, I find it very bold that someone with such a distinguished career, can openly say that their clients are biased and openly discriminatory!!!!!! I guess Sparks Ellison just have a blanket policy of no benefits….. Next year I will be in a position to buy a property…. NOT FROM SPARKS ELLISON!!!
